Rotation Center?

Hi,

is there currently any way to change the center of the rotation of an image?

DustyPorViva 06-09-2008 05:19 PM

No :/

No

I've requested it (as have others) before, but we are ignored.

Ima no scripter but couldn't you just make the image bigger and then the centre point would be at the correct place:confused:

Not stretching, but the canvas and repositioning, yes. However, this would be a huge pain, especially if you needed to change it.

It's better and easier to get a script function.

Uhm, nope xD The rotation centre is at the upper left corner ;o (x,y)(0,0)

I thought you could?

Isn't the rotation point in the middle?

How else would cars, etc work?

DustyPorViva 06-09-2008 07:55 PM

The rotation for images is at the center, the rotation for polygons is in the upper left corner. The rotation for ganis is at the center of the player, regardless of the actual size of the gani(this causes many odd happenings when rotating ganis, for example, sword.gani).

Oh, mixed that up, meant always in the middle, whoops

well i made a script to compensate that, but its a little un-precise xD

There is a way to do this with algebra... I will write an example sometime...

DustyPorViva 06-10-2008 02:56 AM

I've done rotational polygons by simply drawing points from a center point. It's not very complicated, but it's a lot more work than needed.

The easiest way to simply double the length of your image, so that the visual center of interest is in the middle. Obviously not very effective if it's a large image but it's the most efficient AFAI.

Tig could probably explain this better. :asleep:
