Animal Crossing server idea
A server with animal crossing like stuff, called like Animal Encounters, you could make your own town or join a town with 4 other people and ride the train to other towns, oh it'd be awesome. You could release new characters after periods of time, and new furniture, I can see it now..... with npcs with full scheduals, I mean, if the offline game is so fun what is to make this not? You could just start with a small house and rugs are an image and walls are an image, with scripted furniture sets and Nom Took's shop..........
(oops I put this in the wrong section, sorry.) |
I actually thought of a Harvest Moon themed server, and it would be easy to make, but its a bit of a shame that those games aren't casual when there an MMORPG
|
I'd play a Harvest Moon server. For some reason I always liked to farm. x.x
|
Harvest Moon i find gets REALLY boring after time..But it could be different in Graal Style ^^.
|
A mix between the two of them would be nice =] I never played harvest moon a lot.
|
Animal Crossing would be intresting, but would we do odd jobs? Would there be weapons to kill other people? What about Nook :D
|
Tom and I had a similar idea. It would be a mix between Harvest Moon and Animal Crossing.
The server would basically revolve around hundreds(or maybe even thousands) of unique objects and wallpapers, and carpets and such so that you could customize your own house. Upgrade it, build onto it, buy bigger land. Everything would revolve around collecting items... which people REALLY seem to like to do. Farming would just be a plus way to make money, but there would have also been other odd jobs very similar to Animal Crossing. |
Graalians want to have Spars and ways to kill people.. This won't work if it's just make money and build houses.
|
Yes it would. Hell, G2k1 had barely any PK at all, and revolved around just button mashing so you could get A HAT. A hat, that's all the server really had going for it... hats. And people LOVED it.
|
I know I know, Era was awesome in G2k1 and so were so many other places. UN was so awesome, but I got bored after like two years. Animal Crossing would need a Spar, PK zones, and some really lame weapons so Wil Soul can come play.

By most I mean all of them. |

Anyways, of course spars would be needed, but you'd be surprised how much people will drop fighting for a good, fun, economic server. G2k1 HAD PK, but no one did. They were too busy trying to get hats. |
Do it dusty, I will renew my playerworld subscription just to play it.

G2k1 reminds me of Animal Crossing. I still love how the shop-NPC's had a schedule that went with G2k1's (super fast) clock. The NPC would actually go to sleep or something and you'd have to wait till morning to shop.
It disgusts me to not see this on GK. Edit: Well, I guess not really, GK is entirely different. |
G2k1's hat phenomenon was the worst thing that ever happened to the server. Collectibles are always great for the die hard fans, but shouldn't be the focus of the server. Being able to compete with people who play 6 hours a day compaired to people who play 1-2 a day if that is where the main focus of servers should be these days. The difference should be that they have nicer things, but not unnecessarily make it impossible for leisure players to have fun.

Well, if there is an Animal Crossing server, it should be an entire town.
You are given a house when you join and have to look for a job that will take you in (there will be "Job-Experience" for what jobs will take you in). Just an idea, and it's not just a couple towns, butan entire one. |
My idea involved new players being put into a subdivision of sorts(lots of plots in one compact area), with a very small house. From there, they would have enough to get started, and then be able to buy a larger house on new land in the main town.
This would help separate people just trying it out and those who are actually sticking around. |

You script it. I play it.
