Development

I've only been seriously looking at the topic for about two months now, but I've found something disgustings.

The majority of GK will piss and moan for new improvements, but when asked what they want they'll say "some new fun stuff to do" or something equally vague. This can only lead me to believe that the majority of GK doesn't know what they want, and above that, they're simply complaining for the sake of keeping themselves amused on a personal level.

So I'm asking anyone interested in producing genuinely new ideas for GK, or even just something fun to do... contact me, I'll arrange for you to be given a place to discuss your ideas, and to have the input of others equally interested.

Let's stop spinning our tires, and get on the right path to new development.

It really isn't.

Very unspecific but everybody would agree. There should be decent items dropped from monsters that are somewhat difficult to kill. There should also be monsters to challenge someone at a level like mine. Nothing can hurt me (except other players.)

These aren't ideas, it's basically saying "new stuff". You don't say what sort of new monsters you want.

You don't say how you want the economy to be better. These are, if anything, anti-ideas. But I'm not scolding you, I just want you to concentrate your ideas.

Fine.

Make monsters give more EXP so that there's atleast a CHANCE for people to level. I mean, you get to level 12 and you need like 500k EXP? That's just wrong. You have to kill like, what, 25 lords? That's like 4 hours.

Make the economy more balanced. Make everything less rare except THE HOLIDAY ITEMS. Allow people to bless higher at lower levels so they have a chance against monsters like lords. Bring back all the old spells and alchemy etc.

Make more monsters. More places to level. Have a spread out range of places to level depending on level. Like the higher the level, the more EXP (to match with the high EXP-needed stuff) and harder to kill (meaning you need better armor and weapons); the lower the level, the less EXP and less hard to kill. Make a range so it's like "Here you kill if you're level 1-10, there you kill if you're level 11-20" etc.

And yes like Pat said, make better drops.

But that's the thing, I don't want to discuss it here. If you want to partake in a discussion about development on GK, contact me and I'll provide you with the information you need.

I want to see races. Not just RP names of species, but actual skills depending on your race.

Expand on disease and such, making Bile more respectable. Perhaps a werewolf disease, or periodic plague outbreaks?

Gk has tons of potential, stuff I can't even go into in a quick reply, and if it was put to use, I could see it far more popular than it is today.

They can fix depletion rate. I'm sick of refilling it to 999 every 10 minutes. They can also sort out the magical/physical imbalance so that it's more even. There's 2 quick fixes they can do.

races should be based on kingdoms
like

Dustari: Human
Zormite: Zormite
Pirates: Pirates
Samurai: Samurai
Forest: Elves, Orcs? and whatever else we've commonly accepted as Forest races

That's just a quick draw-up of how it could be. There could be more races, or it could overlap or something. I dunno. I'm just pulling this out my ass as I type this. I suppose Dustari would also have elves or dwarves. Obviously "Pirates" and "Samurai" aren't races, but should also be separate from "Human" for the fact that a human Samurai and a human Pirate should be different from a human Dustarian (maybe Pirates move faster, but Dustarians are stronger, and Samurai have more health)

Since the class system is fail (in the sense of tradititonal limitations and advantages; but in the sense of flexibility, i personally think it's win), and our game is supposed to be based on "kingdoms", this kingdom-system (instead of race...though it is kind of a race system)would work well and give us the differences we lack in classes.

Next response to this thread will be better organized. I promise.

(Edit: Zormites should be able to swim on ALL water. But if there's a reason they should not be able to travel between gmaps via swimming [for example, if someone wants to fix the travel-system and make ships more imporant instead of everyone being able to ride the ferry practically for free... in fact,i'll make a new post about this], then you can just limit it so they can only reach the edge of the map and only let ships pass)

There are a lot of people who are turned off by the amount of grinding that is needed. I do believe the system needs to be evolved for lack of a better term.

For monsters, I know this has been said before, but the slay abilities of blessed weapons needs to mean something. There is no point in being able to slay a giant if there are no giants around.

Most craftable weapons should be scrapped, they suck and no one uses them.

It's hard to level because Graal wants you to spend hours playing Graal so they make it hard to level so you will stay and play the Graal for hours.

But the leveling system is not really too bad you can level really easy if you put your mind to it.

I ran a "deep swimming" stat by Bjorn when I asked for his opinion on my Zormite gloves and got no response, so I'm assuming he's against that.

But I do agree with them being able to swim deeper, and perhaps dive (at the cost of grace?) for a short period, but still not being able to switch maps.

Other races could have specialties too, but it shouldn't be limited to "Kingdom" races.

And while we're bringing up races, let's not forget Bomies ^^
