Graphics Card

When I start up Graal I get a message saying "No hardware graphics support detected. Please install a driver for your graphics card." Everything else works its just Graal that says this. What's wrong with my computer?

Posting info about your system and graphic card would help :P

Are you running Windows? I'll assume you are ...

Try running Graal in opengl -- you may actually find that you like it better. I know some people use OpenGL instead of DirectX because it works better for them.

Try installing the latest DirectX, or updating your graphics card driver.

Is this a new problem? Was it working before?

I'm running Windows Vista. I don't know what my graphics card is and I don't know how to check. I tried downloaded DirectX and opengl, they didn't do anything. This started happening yesterday. It just randomly stopped working.

Run Device Manager and look under Display adapters.

Its fixed. I used system restore and it worked. I have no idea what went wrong. Thanks for the help.

I don't mean to bump this thread, but something that may work would have been enabling hardware acceleration -- this just happened on my computer, enabling hardware acceleration fixed it perfectly.

Just a suggestion.

Again, sorry for bumping, but it may help someone in the future.

quickest fix I'm aware of if this happens again is to set Graal to run in compatiblity mode and set the colors to 256 by right clicking, try launching, unset compatability and color setting, and fix your desktop back to 32 bit graphic.

Should work

Bump.

I get this problem, I use Windows XP, and I'm not really sure why I get this error. It only happens on graal and all other programs my graphic card is fine. Any help is much appreciated.

Graphic card drivers updated/installed?

fowlplay4 03-17-2010 03:59 PM

PM Skyld and see if you can get in the V6 Beta, maybe it's fixed in the new client.

Yea, that was the first thing I did once I saw the error.

Will do, thanks

I fixed this problem by uninstalling my graphics card then reinstalling it.

Just for anyone who has this future problem.
