Life display

I was wondering if it would be possible to display people's health/life (or whatever you want to call it) under them? You never know how many more shots to kill them, and I think this would be helpful. Also, you could press a button (such as L for Life) to take away the life display for the people who don't want to see it. Would this be helpful?

As good as this would be it could also be very buggy and inaccurate. Look at trials they only get a max of 80 life while subscribers get 100.

A scripter who cannot get this to work correctly just sucks.

DuBsTeRmAn 01-22-2008 08:33 PM

This will create much lag.. I dont think that it is a good idea

DustyPorViva 01-22-2008 08:45 PM

I'm not sure if you're a scripter or not, either way, please explain why you think it will cause lag--I'm curious.

anubis_wing 01-22-2008 09:02 PM

It'd only cause lag for people who actually use it. And Name doesn't know much, he just goes with what the people on Zones event team says in hopes he gets rehired.

Dante55555 01-22-2008 09:36 PM

Could be interesting, although I haven't had an issue in the past regarding it.

Might have added a neat twist to the spars at base 4 back in the good old days =)

Maybe hp could be displayed together with nickname (so if you mouseover a player or press N), can't lag that much using attr's (like for the hairs).

I'd also like a new GUI for Zone maybe, something that takes less place and looks better.

Current GUI is oldschool, don't take the last actually good part off of Zone please.

kia345 01-22-2008 11:20 PM

I say no. Part of the 'fun' on Zone is the risk you take rushing in to attack someone.

Actually, you're right, it won't be changed.

Thank you so much :)

I like the idea would make stuff easier just as long as it doesnt make more lag for me :(

Me too lol. The thing is like Kia said it wouldn't really be fair. You can tell it from the playerlist but you should be killed in the time it takes to check your health. Though I don't know anyone who uses their playerlist for viewing things like that lol.

It'd barely cause ANY lag, if done correctly.
He goes by what he hears...

Angel_Light 01-23-2008 01:02 AM

If done in a gani it should cause no lag even for comps with low specs.

Yes exactly.

But it'd takes the fun out of Zone. Not knowing what your enemie's "health", even in real life, is the most exciting part of a duel.

xAzerothx 01-23-2008 01:07 AM

In real life example: LOOK DOOD! The guy over there only has 10 HP left lets jump him! Oh crap he just ate a cookie and gained 20 health. Healer n00b let's run.

Aw you just found a loophole to my arse-kicking take-over-the-world plan :frown:

darksage15 01-23-2008 02:42 AM

Okay, many people say it will creat much lag and it will be annoying... For those of you who say that,

If it causes lag or is annoying, there could an option under "enable mouse" and "enable guide" to be "enable hp display" or something. Also...

Why do you care what other n00bs think about you? They can cry all they want about you being a "Healer n00b", just own them >_<

I never said I did. That was my example.

UnknownMasterMind 01-23-2008 04:48 AM

I agree with Switch, and I see no need for it, if you could persuade me otherwise...

What Kia and I said were different. I made an infrence, he took it literal to Zone.

Dante55555 01-24-2008 12:29 AM

I don't see much of a difference, but ok Switch :P

Like there's a difference. It's not like it matters, it's a good reason against it.

Ravenblade1979 01-24-2008 07:50 AM

Rescate 01-24-2008 07:56 AM

You mind explaining that more to me in detail

Because im a super lame i find a way to lame with anything and i cant even see a way this would be used to lame

Tigairius 01-24-2008 05:36 PM

Good idea, I approve.

LOL Oh god that is so right but it would take the edge of and also would encourage teaming
(Ex:)
unknown: Hey look, Puppy has 3 HP
6 people: OMFG JUMP HIM
Puppy: o.o HP display needs removed for this purpose.

Yeah, not cool man

They probably would team you either way personally if your walking around on iricia with 3 hp your either out of food and going to go buy some more or your on a death wish

[sarcasm] Right, because that would make Zone unrealistic! [/sarcasm]
