Hi,

after seeing that doomsday is "revived" in the news screen I visited it, but everytime i was there noone was online(not even any staff), so what about it?

It wont work, the dude that started it never had permission to revive it from anyone.

Lol i smell global.

I asked Houdini about it, he said that he iddnt give permission, neither did Tifa. But it didnt sound like he was going to do something

Because people need to ask permission from other players to use GraalOnline's copyrighted material as stated in the terms of service... this makes perfect sense! :)

The guy (Mid Chill) told me he was the lead developer before and did most/all of the work, so therefore he "had" the right to it.
For some reason it sounds odd...

GraalOnline should have some application process for being able to do this kinda stuff.

Doomsday was revived earlier then that new rule.

Not long after you left Graal made it so everyone could buy a server so all the staff left for bigger and better rights so no, Midnight Chill was not the last dev or owner. I brought Doomsday when Graal told me to buy it or close it. Now I understand why I'm being asked to hand it over yet again. Somebody please tell me what the fascination is with a server that is over 5 years old?

Let it die. There's much better servers out there.

On that note, goodnight and just for the record I am not giving Doomsday to anyone. (Unless of course you want to reimburse me what I spent on it) ;)

Revival is what all the cool kids do. My personal view on the why is this.

1. Instant gratification: You just upload and you have a server. No needless energy wasted on things like level making or using your imagination to decide on a nice storyline. Granted, its going to be buggy and none of the scripts will work right but you have a server!

2. Instant notoriety and respect: Its a known name by the older crowd and with all the hype it must be a good server right? Everyone will know and love me for bringing it back!

3. Pipe dream #1: Since it was a Classic tabbed server once, it will instantly become one again. Meaning you won't have to pay for as long to develop something before you get the proverbial free ride.

4. Pipe dream #2: It had a solid player base that most surely will return if its back online. Hence, you don't have to worry about attracting new players.

In conclusion, the old servers were great because of the community that grew during their time. Graal is about community more than what content the server holds or what name it had. You cannot bring back its community and even if you did it wouldn't be the same. They've all grown older and have different lifestyles and tastes now. Meaning, enjoy the nostalgia of the server that once was and use those brains of yours to make something new and fresh instead of trying to recycle something that wore out long ago.

I agree. Doomsday was my favorite server to play on back when I was manager of N-pulse, to get away from the stress.

Even if you brought it back, it would never be the same, and it certainly wouldnt be the same if someone else brought it back. Though, I wouldnt have a problem seeing Doomsday on the list with you as Manager/Owner. ;)

BTW...nice to see you are still around. :)

Doomsday died when the black-effects came out and made the cemetary dark...and other stuff D: I liked the pet-system and killing the gold baddies with 9 hp to get 100 rupees hehe ^.^

Doomsday was the server where I grew up with, not kidding :P It was part of my 12 year old life :)
But now... It is outdated probably, so I guess its better to leave it there.

Thank you, that sums it up nicely. Hello to everyone who remembers me. I realized a long time ago that it was a pointless endeavor to bring Doomsday back. It would need so much work that you might as well start from scratch. As WarrLord has often said, I spent a lot of time and money on Doomsday and it meant a lot to me and I can't emphasize strongly enough that you cannot bring it back like it used to be. The original people who made it great are gone. I know a lot of people hate me for closing it down and claim I was the worse Owner/Manager ever, but I also have enough people who know I was a good one. I gave it my heart and soul and it rests with me. I didn't ask to be the last one, I didn't ask to have to pay to keep it up, I didn't ask everyone to leave and go buy their own servers and chase better rights. At the end of the day I kept my promise. When its just me and the NPC control I'll close it down. <3Doomsday<3

Scratch that Doomsday will be revive like it or not.. it's a Classic and even if it's not the same it WILL live i'll bring it back up and to sky and midnight guess who's the new owner :-p

Years ago I used to come on doomsday, I never really got into it, but from stories I have heard it seemed like an interesting place.

Tifa, sadly I didn't get to know you or the staff team that well, but it would a pleasure if someday along the line you could bring it back..
