If you have ever worked on a server with me, you have probably seen it.

So basically a tool to allow staff members on UC worlds to harass each other and players. In general, I find staff tools to do nothing more than waste potential development time.

Stuff like //dirall ......

I have to agree.
In my opinion, a stafftool is there to make parts of developing a little easier. Like if you make levels and want to go to a certain position without typing in "warpto x y", you could just use boots, or a mouse warper.
Staffblocks are useful to spread temporary information, or to temporary block something without editing levels.

And thats it. Thats probably the only thing you need in a staff tool.

Mouse warper, summon, guild and nick are really the only things needed in a good staff tool. Not to mention I'm sure the script looks ridiculous and sloppy.

Heres the best part. Guess where he uses this tool at? The new Utopia that "better than Ever!"

Not to mention he have other scripters script stuff for him (he isnt all that great..) and than he takes it as his own and giving no credit to others. >_<

This is one of those scripts you make to prove to yourself, and any other future bosses you know how to code in GScript, it's not something you publicly release so that a billion noobs can say they made it.

Proving you can easily abuse players probably isn't something to show.

All that functionality in a staff tool is unnecessary and just makes it more tempting for idiots to abuse.
Details are unimportant, the script would show that a person knows how to script in the first place.

Only thing YOU actually did on that was make it not go to RCs because I forgot how to check if a player was in a level with a name.

Erm, i actually see staff tools generally pointless, if your making a level then you can look at it in the editor.

And if you need to get to a player, you can warp with already built in system... Only thing id say would be good is a summon tool.

You've done your research, kewl; however, alot of those commands are unnecessary!

Content belongs to the first server you upload it to, you can't just take it where you want without permission.

For everyone else, it worked. The script worked. It was quite sloppy, and really insecure ... and kinda pointless ... but it did work ... most of the time.

[Edit] Thought I'd add this, it was extreme abuse, and got him fired. Then he went and took over the server, and got himself globalled. Good job :)

I just heard about a certain event. A lack of details should save this post from deletion. Goes to show these tools lead to nothing but trouble for the staff members who wield them to the players and other staff who have to deal with the abuse and pure annoyance of such tools.

I was NOT globalled for taking over Utopia.

The code was organized and was very secure since I put in the loadvars right system.

Thats called being owned in the face.

Some kid tried to get a job on horrification by using your BlooTool script as her example.

Why is it coded so poorly, too? I took the 15 minutes to re-write it and remove useless crap and I removed literally hundreds of lines and burned it down to a 80 line script with all the useful functionalities that were in there.

And I suck at scripting.

I wouldn't say this is a testament to your skill and that almost all servers have or had one of these daft silly tools.

They had one of these on Horizon, back before Andy and Anti both left...Hikaru liked to add useless crap like /killall and /killserver.
Really pointless, hinders development, and a complete distraction and waste of time. I do admit that I used it as well for a certain time, and that it really does get the best of the person that is using it. Now on Fincayra, thanks to Chompy and some different things I added into them, we have boots and a summoner. That's all.

I don't think the GST should care that much on private playerworlds. If the owners and management ALLOW it to happen, they have to face the consequences. Even more so if it's actually a member of management scripting one of these things. On Public Playerworlds though, they should be banned and if one of this scripts does arise on a public pw, the scripter should be fired and the management given a grilling, I guess.

* Who took a BACKUP of ZODIAC's NC? Can't have been in the nearest future, not since before calani was manager. Both she, Rufus and me was very restricted with rights, and that account name rings ZERO bells.

* Uploaded it all to MYTHIC LEGENDS? Which one are you talking about? Mine, or the fake one using my name? I would like to point out that NO ONE but ME have enough rights to upload any script on the REAL Mythic Legends (aka The Lion War due to name theft), so it's not my playerworld he's talking about.


Completely offtopic: the same second "Mythic Legends"'s subscription runs out, I'm snitching back the name!

Because there are like two GSTs and they're both not very active.
