Anti-spam thing for forums
 

Maybe there should be a rule that you have to have atleast 10 words in a post before you can post it. That way people won't spam with single word posts like "hehe" or "lol".

thos arnt single words. yet they are spam.

There should be an auto word checker. Like, it looks for gibberish. :)

What about typos? It would reject your message if you have a typo.

Hmm. You have a point. Wouldn't there be a way to set it up so that it can adjust to what the users type? Like, for spelling impaired people? Or we could leave it so that it removes all misspelled words from posts and thus FORCES PEOPLE TO TYPE PROPERLY! "there is sentances". Hahaha.

Hell, it would reject nearly all the graal nicknames, and account names, and bomy names, and town names, and PW names, etc.

It would simply remove the word from the post. :) Unless you entered in the Accounts database and such. :T

not to mention slang words or like little faces ppl make 0.o . its impossible to program it to know all words and slang and eveyrhting etc 0.o

Hmm, you have a point. But it'd be possible to make it work accurately SOMEHOW.

Perhaps every post that has less than 10 recognizable words in the text box doesn't count towards your Posts?
But a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a would still be considered a valid post, that's the problem. A, I, It, Is, An, If, these are all words that can be typed pretty quickly by a spammer. And if I wanna type "yes" as my entire post, I can do so, I just won't get "credit" for it.

how about if you start spaming it plays the spam song from a monty phyton skit where a man and his mom go to a restront where theres all products with Spam like spam and eggs spamspam spam, spam spam spam and eggs

well that might work to have some spammers run away crying. but as for his devout fans....wouldn't they spam more just to hear it? 0.o lol

Now and then isn't that bad, but when a person's every post has no relavence to the thread it is in...

just take the post count out.

that would probably take care of a lot of it... but the idiocy would still be around.

best way to limit spaming now that I think of it would be to put a delay where a person can't post for awhile after they're last post in the same thread......

that would kind of suck though..What if its a heated topic where theres a reply every minute or so? They are gonna make you wait 15 mins to reply again?

you can't post for 30 seconds after your last post...well, you can't submit a post for 30 seconds, you can start writing right away, but I mean, after you WERE the last post. If it's me, then me again, I have to wait 15 minutes or edit my last post and tack the new one on. If it's me then you then me again, no waiting.

heh ok if we need something new then what about you just take off the limits and ip ban apparent spammers automatically.. I dunno.

Let's just put it this way.. if you banned all the spammers in these forums you would have like 3 people left. =/

I never buy that junk about "needing" spammers or "needing" pks and the like... theres plenty of honest and metally sane individuals out there... the yucko sort just keep pushing us away... its a cultural problem that show up everywhere... including on the shows that get put on the air for tv..
