[r]evolution

1 Attachment(s)
Movement 1: Awakening

Movement 2: The Battle

Movement 3: Dying Chance

Movement 4: Eternal Rest

Suggestion: Please have at least a sub-woofer hooked up while playing this. The bass notes can't harmonize properly without one. Song still sounds okay without one, but you lose huge effects during moments in it.

So...
go...
criticize....
Then do what you guys always do...
Ostracize...

I fail to see why anyone would exclude you or your work in the future.

Because there ignorant jerks usually.

ceserthen 10-15-2007 12:15 AM

needs to have a more climactic ending, just seems to die there at the end.

I didn't download the MP3 since I'm on dial-up... but why is Graal so attached to MP3's?
I figure midi's do more than enough, and are a hell of a lot smaller. Unless you all do full orchestra stuff with vocals.

Angel_Light 10-16-2007 05:12 AM

MP3's are the smallesthigh quality music file to date. Plus there flexible aswell.

oinknessx 12-30-2007 03:17 AM

MIDIs aren't supported for streaming from a web server...
So MP3 is really your only choice, unless you want to grant graal the right to own your song you worked so hard on....

They either need to amend the Terms of Service, or create streaming midi support from web servers. ;)

Or I suppose thirdly, they could perform an electronic contract for everyone who decides to make a song for their playerworld....

Well, those who make graphics/scripts/levels don't get that kind of luxury...

Angel_Light 12-30-2007 05:09 AM

I don't really mind loading mine to my server and having graal say they own it just as long they give me credit for making it.

cbk1994 12-30-2007 05:27 AM

I know what you guys are saying. I'm all for open-source, and all my Java applets are released open-source, but with Graal, you kinda need to keep some things to your own server or you're going to have a bunch of servers with the same scripts-and don't get me wrong, I love the code gallery, but I don't like going on 5 different servers and seeing the exact same scripts. That's just me.

DustyPorViva 12-30-2007 05:32 AM

I just never had a problem listening to midi's... especially while playing games. I still download them from vgmusic and listen to them 'cause a lot are really good. I'd just rather hear a lot more midi's on servers than MP3's.

Angel_Light 12-30-2007 05:42 AM

well, I always thought if you put the sever's name in the image or whatevers name it could only be used on that server unless you get permission to use it somewhere else. :P

Material that is created for Graal and can only be used on Graal should probably become the property of Graal, that's only logical... Music doesn't fall under that category, however, as it can be used in pretty much any instance... It's not limited in its use to just the one application. You can't release a CD of levels and gscript... at least not any kind of CD that anyone would want to buy or get their hands on....

Music, as always, should be dealt with through licensing... that means if the music is to be used on Graal, there needs to be an agreement made to which the artist reserves their rights to their material. :)

DustyPorViva 12-30-2007 11:39 PM

Graphics can be used in pretty much any instance related to games :P

Angel_Light 01-10-2008 06:30 AM

I save all my server files on CD's :P I'm sure there's a few people that would want it. Besides that, Music made for Graal should be owned by Graal, but the Artist should be given reconition, and should be property of the first server loaded too.
