Metric Revolution Hiring!
 

Hello all!

As you know i am Mike. Now i am finally starting my project Metric Revolution. I am hiring all staff. Here is a little something about it:

The year is 1604 N.W., harsh war has caused misery and wretchedness through the lands. Men and women have lost lives, Kings have fallen. Though this war is not only of this world, but of many. The balance of trust has been lost between many races.


That is just part of the story. To summarize what the server will have to offer is multiple planets, races and some other things. I plan on having at least 5 different tilesets; of course that will be necessary because there will be about 5-6 planets made.

There is still more to come right now i am looking for some more staff to help me. I'm really looking for GFXers, you can log on The Lion War to see what we have started. I am going to have the name changed soon. I will be adding screenshots in a day or two when i finish getting parts of the first tileset done.

Well Mike... From what I see it is something like an OpenRPG with guns.
Is that correct? Well an OpenRPG without the leveling...

Or will you be having Zoneish battlegrounds?

It will have both battlegrounds and openRPG. The battlegrounds will be for the the wars between kingdoms. I'm debating on a leveling system. Because i hate games like WoW where you have to level for months just to be able to play all the fun features of the game. So what i am planning is a level system that doesn't effect your game play. What i mean by that is the level system won't effect your ability to do instances and quest. I'm hoping to make it so that you can do any quest you want and it will just modify according to your level. Just so that everyone can do them. But quest are such a bore, That is why you can own your own Kingdom. I don't want to make a quest based server this server is going to be about War not quest. So there is a lot to come for us. But i need staff to help me :D also here is a quick screenshot i just took

That tileset is all sorts of disgusting photshop filters. Gah.

I like the tiles and that is just part of the tileset there is still more to come. I am trying to hire a GFXer to help me with the tileset

not ever good to listen to only the voice inside your head. Players say it's bad, I'd change it up imo.

That tree looks like a South Park cut-out.

I actually think a tileset made out of textures and objects taken out of photographs and meshed together could actually work really well if it was done right.

No, it wouldn't...not the way tilesets work. In 3D it would work very well, obviously, but with 2D tile-based games...yeah, no.

It would work if it was done as a sidescroller.

I am basically giving a server that will have everything to it and no one seems to be happy. *sighs*

I'm unsure what kind of server this is supposed to be...it sounds like a mix of Modern and RPG, am I right? If so I might be willing to help.

Modern/Future RPG. You will be able to explore lots of planets.Create a kingdom and take over other peoples kingdom to make yours bigger. There will be some quest. I dont want a quest based server.

This subforum hardly needs it. I always skip stickies anyways since they are normally older material.

A guy looked at it just because it was stickied.

And negative feedback is something you should look forward to, because it will help you in bettering your own server.

People were hapilly criticising before these stickies. When you open the aubforum, the icon next to the thread indicates if it has new content as does the 'New Posts' section. This seems like a, "I need to show I have control' decision :whatever:
