Another map. Also just playing around.
 

Somewhat inspired by Darlene's thread (and severe boredom/lack of another alternative) I've begun working on a map I made months ago but never bothered to play with. You may remember the basic shape, but I've begun building onto it and we'll see how(/if) it turns out.

And yes, everything has been hand-tiled. The terrain generator was used only to make a basic 10x5 flat, green canvas to start from ;)

Looks great so far. Wouldn't mind seeing some ingame screenshots. :)

Nice cliffing. I hope I can make some nice cliffing like that, but I get frustrated easy. :(

Cheers for the comments so far - there'll be an update tonight I'm hoping, provided I can get internet access.

Progress is certainly being made, however!

And here is the aforementioned update. Fingers crossed I'll have a chance to work on some more tonight, or at least tomorrow morning. I'm not entirely sure on the arrangement of the town, but it's good for now :)

I've finished up with the forest and I'm fairly happy with how it is now. I'll need to add in a couple more houses in the town, but otherwise the right half of the map is mostly finished, barring detailing and extra fillers.

Next I'll look at a kind of mountain range up in the top left corner. If this keeps up, I may extend the map :)

I never claim im a "godly level maker" or even "good". I usually just say "people say im good" or something because I don't wanna sound like Elk and other people who brag.

The levels are all pretty bare of detail at the moment, so single-level and/or in-game screenshots probably won't be coming. If they do, remember the previous sentence :p

At the moment progress is kind of stalled, as I'm going through a bunch of (useless) training for a new position I'm taking at a new company. Just don't think I've lost interest... yet :p

Oh yeah, and as far as comparing Crono and I, I'd say our styles and skill are actually pretty similar. I know Crono has said as much in the past, at least as far as style goes :p
