Teleporting

I think it should be possible for the high level mages to teleport on the main island. Level 35+ mages should be able to transport anywhere on the main island and for going to foreign islands you would need to be level's 40 +.
Mental levels could affect this skill so that someone with a level 60 magic and a level 26 mental would fumble the spell constantly and lose all their mana. A level 60 magic with a level 107 mental would rarely fumble a spell though.

You would type /cast Teleportation <here you would type the name of the marker than you wish to teleport to>

There would need to be a new marker Colour that you can use once you have the teleportation spell. And that marker would be restricted to people with the spell. That way you can set the exact spot. And it would alert you if the area your teleporting to is unavaliable or restricted, e.g. inside kingdom castle walls

Thanks to majin for the advice.

I don't think this would be terribly hard to script, but i know nothing of scripting so i really couldn't be sure. I support the idea and think it would be an interesting addition to GK.

Tigairius 08-03-2007 05:45 PM

-shrug- I guess that's an alright idea.

MasterNuke 08-03-2007 06:47 PM

I'd grind 5 more magic levels for that :P

Ravenblade1979 08-03-2007 06:47 PM

lol now just to find a way not to have it abused if its in.

ReBorn_Spirit 08-03-2007 07:27 PM

Oh sure, more powers to the rich and insane glitch abusers.. yea great idea... -_-

More power to people who actually work hard for their level.

lordbosh 08-03-2007 08:24 PM

Lol, even abusing these "glitches" takes days, weeks to level yourself with. Yucry?

Drakeero 08-03-2007 08:27 PM

I like it when Bjorn said, "I have no idea how teleporting is supposed to work. Besides, its just for staff anyway. :p" Note, that's probably not the EXACT word for word quote, but it's really really close.

I didn't say that... I was just suggesting something that would give some incentive to those of us that will work to get up to that level.... x_x

kenyonandelliot 08-03-2007 11:32 PM

Isn't having that magic level proof enough that you worked for it?

Ravenblade1979 08-04-2007 07:16 AM

What should happen is that it should take intelligence, magic and mental to cast. Considering you have to know where your going. Like a radar.

Mental and magic are good and all but intelligence should play a part.

cyan3 08-04-2007 10:57 AM

I think it would be a great idea but only if it was a short range teleport to be used in a battle or a fight not to get from place to place.

I agree. Intelligence should play a role aswell.

I think there would be one for short range, that would mage magic fighting slightly easier as you could use it to gain distance on your opponent, but it'd cost quite some mana.

I'd like to see a long range one where the distance you can teleport is limited depending on your magic skill / mental ability. Like a radius which increases as your skill progresses.

High level is not level 40 is not a high mage.
Level 110 is top so level 55 is just average. That means a high level mage would be level 83+.

Ravenblade1979 08-04-2007 05:32 PM

hey that would get people to work on their intelligence, mental and magic level a lot more.

But if you need 83 magic level to cast a teleport less people would work for it(thats a pretty high goal to reach >_<)

At base Lv 42, it takes me 2.2 million XP to reach Lv 43.

Which means at Magic Lv 42, it would take me 2.2 million XP to reach Magic Lv 43.

At the current time, at Magic Lv 18, I get about 15,000 XP per Lord kill on average. Seeing as how that will drop considerably as my Magic level goes up, I can't imagine a day where I would see myself with a Magic Lv anywhere around the top.

/HATES grinding.
//Experience curve needs fixing.

Actually, I heard someone leveled to 110 in three days without glitching...but I highly doubt they did it without glitching. ;)

Damn straight, its simply became boring to even level now, its just the same thing day after day...Grind, grind, grind, grind...hang out...grind, grind, grind.

Its just become way too repetitive, period.

And we need a reset.

They could have used a cauldron+3 and lots of rubies along with some leveling scrolls to start out. Or the cauldron+5 that may still be floating around gk.

See now all this stuff here is your problem.

Hard work you say?? Oh so buying the supplies with real money to stand around for a few hours doing alchemy to get all the HP you ever need. And then purchasing some "leet" items with real money (again) so you can have the equipment to just run around like an idiot killing things for a few months is hard work?? That sounds alot like cheating to me.. Perhaps we should just remove the Experience from scrolls and take out the exp from alchemy until a better way can be devised. Then we can perhaps make some better monsters for you to fight too.

Enough with the speed items, seriously. I can get 6.2 speed on debug, I HATE IT!! 2 to 3 is seriously fast enough, at 3 you can't even sit on a chair if you wanted to.

Bjorn... have you ever tried to level really? level 83 magic nowdays is near impossible to reach (if you have a life). Oh and the top level for magic and all other idividual skills is 107 :noob:

Teleport would never be used, unless some of the oldbie abusers came back >_<

You'd start on maps at around lvl 20 so level 50 should be withing your grasp, however it still takes forever.

There are very few players who have actually worked hard for their items...

When did speed come into this? And speed items are much loved by all  But i would like to see something other than +dex/speed released :noob:
