You need like 500 posts and 30 days, then the box will appear under Profile or something.

I was able to use it after about 10 days or about 125 posts.

That was when we first signed up and Galen forgot to put on the defences. (Security!)

Here is the full explanation of the title/avatar thing:

When the board first opened you could already change a number of options including your title/avatar, however recently it has been changed that you need at least 500 posts for an avatar and 1000 posts for a custom title anyone who has less then those amouts of posts had changed these before the board was reconfigured to work like that.
