Alchemy?

How exactly do you make something with it? What is it based on? I haven't had a whole lot of luck making water of the wise, but I'm probably doing something wrong if I havent got it work atleast once yet....

First, you need to have the alchemy spell, a cauldron, and the ingredients for the recipe. You also need to have learned the recipe, so it's listed in your "/recipes" list.

You first put the recipe ingredients in the cauldron, so for water of the wise, you'd put in 7 waters. Next, you close the cauldron, place it on the ground, then cast the alchemy spell on the cauldron. you then open the cauldron, and take out the item(s) you made.

Items made with alchemy will be unidentified at first, so either use the alchemy skill or cast the identify spell in order to identify what you've made.

Now about what alchemy's based on, making items with alchemy gives you mental experience. As your mental level goes up, your success rate and the amount of items created should both increase. Some recipes (The equipment ones, I believe) never fail, providing you know the recipe and used the correct ingredients.

Also items with creation on them can improve the success rate like Bakers gloves and also the Alchemy amulet (You need to be an alchemist to get the amulet but not the gloves).

here's what I know

1) You should at least had 10+ to attempt Dust of Piercing Vision or Dust of Visibility

2) You can charge your alchemy spell. Usually I let mine charge once and I let go. I rarely fail

3) You must know recipes (hence learning literacy is a good start) to do alchemy

4) you should have a cauldron and all the ingredients and a wand.

5) you need to know Alchemy Spell and Alchemy Skill. I find it easier with the Alchemy skill to identify with.

6) A big suggestion would be to have double or even triple ingredients of a recipe your doing that way if you do fail you don't need to spend however many hours gathering up more ingredients.

7) A big thing to buy would be levelling scrolls. yes its a quick way to level ur normal level but also it helps your mental a lot.

Alright. Thanks for all that info.
Now I got a few new questions... What are leveling scrolls? And what do you mean by "charging the spell?"
.

Leveling scrolls are scrolls that you read (no, I believe you do NOT need to know literacy) and your mental EXP increases. the higher the level the scroll, the more EXP you get.

Levelling scrolls are scrolls written up by people with level 107 mental that will give you experience. You do need to know literacy to be able to read them.

By charging a spell I mean to hold your spell hotkey. example alchemy. I can hold it and it will cast and charge it twice.

How much would some Leveling scrolls run me?

Ravenblade1979 05-29-2007 04:57 PM

Levelling scrolls are 10 per diamond.
