Tree WIP
 

I suck at trees. So I decided to give it another go and see what I could pull off. Anyways, severely WIP as doing this leaf thing takes forever...(I spent about 20 minutes just doing what I did to the leaves, and that's not including time it spent with the base and such), so ideas, suggestions, comments.

I really like this, you should finish it.

The top left doesn't seem to mesh with the rest, but then again, I'm no GFX guy. :(

I think it's because the leaves are smaller than the top leaves, and don't really fit in. so I tried to fix that, and did a bit more:

its good but it seems like its for a sidescroller game...the perspective is a bit wrong =/

I'm not sure if he said what he's using it in - but regarding the perspective... it's in the foreground, so yea, it'd be awkward in a side scroller (would pass over the character).

It's for 3/4, and I think adding a trunk will solve all the issue problems, if I do that correctly.

I'll have to when I rejuvenate myself. I ended up rushing when my eyes started watering and like I said, I hated how it turned out. I think I make try to 'flatten' it out a bit and see if that ends up making it look more natural, as I think I emphasized too much on depth and shape.

That trunk is so bad. So so so so bad.

It really makes the rest look bad. Would you be insulted if I gave it a spin?
It's a pity there's not a emoticon which displays horror; that's essentially what passed across my face when I read that message.

Nah, have fun with it. I can only learn from edits.
Anyways, the trunk is far from finished, I started with the outline and then begun messing with different things, but wasn't happy with it so went back to the leaves.

Cool :cool: I'll give it a spin tomorrow, after work. I gots a nice style lined up for it.
Just seems like totally the wrong style for this tree, it's so plain.

It's been a long while since I last pixelled, so be understanding.

It's nice, but the trunk looks bent from wind, but the the treetop not.

I like it, but the one thing I was trying to accomplish with the trunk was to have it no so unique, as repeated use wouldn't really make it stand out over and over.

That was my intent.

Actually I like your edit, specifically the subtle, yet noticeable details on the trunk, and still something to take into consideration. I chopped off a lot from the right side of the tree as I did the leaves, and it began to look lopsided with my trunk, which your edit addressed, but when I go back I'll probably add more to the right side of the leaves again.
