Private Kingdom Forums

I think each Kingdom should have a Private Forum within there own forum incase they want to discuss things that they don't want anyone other than kingdom members or friends of that kingdom to know. oveusly you can't add every member of the kingdom into the private forums easley so the Moderator of that kingdom forum (Kingdom Leader) will add the members he/she trusts first and leave all the inactive members out. this can also work for close friends to the kingdom aswell (Allies of the kingdom e.g other kingdom leader).

This idea is ideal if the kingdom is going to war because they can post the plans without anyone else look at them.

Hate it, there's no reason for it. If it's a kingdom forum, every member should be allowed, they're all functioning members of that kingdom.

And it's not like anyone does anything between kingdoms, GK is one big trading post

That is true but it will be hard for the Moderator to add everybody to the forum and you don't know who you can trust or not.

Yes i know but everybody has access to the website but the forum idea is so that only kingdom members can see it.

I am sorry but yes each kingdom should have a private forum on here. Its crap that other kingdoms can say come into zormite's topics and post there. Its Zormite kingdom..thats all who should be posting there.

I guess they could setup a "kingdom password" that only kingdom members know. And it would have to change every few days or once a week.

not needed...

My idea was to make it like a private Group where the the kingdom leader add's the member to the forum it's much easier than trying to remember a password all the time. It will still have the normal forum where anyone can post in but it will have a sub forum inside that is private to the kingdom members.

It could be useful for a few things and it's not like it would be a negative for the forums, but the main problem here is that most 2K2 players don't even use the forums.

Butz 05-24-2007 10:36 PM

From what I know forum administrators have to do that. It takes long enough to get access updates for GK Staff forums but I don't really wonder. But I don't wonder about that because the administrators do a really good job looking through all forums and keep them clean and that's not that easy sometimes.
So basically the idea is ok but it might get on their nerves to update the access all day long. Looking at the log who adds or removes people from kingdoms I'd say that such a forum will hardly work out.
But maybe one of the administrators can tell us more about that. Would be interesting at all.

It does? I thought I was doing them as soon as someone said something to me about it?

I certainly don't have time to update something that much, so if this were done, Stefan or Unixmad would have to assign someone to keep up with it. I don't see that happening.

bad idea

Ok. Thought I had missed something somewhere. >_<

Ravenblade1979 05-25-2007 08:08 PM

Why don't ppl just create their own forum elsewhere. I created one for Zormite but have to pass it out to all zormite members.

Because then runes would have to be fixed. The whole mail system collapsed because ther was no reason for it.

Would be nice if they could have a use for it.

Only when it's to remove my access ;)

MasterNuke 05-27-2007 07:12 PM

Eh. Bad idea. Unless you have someone actively and manually doing the lists, you're just opening another possible security hole. I've seen it happen on other games.
