Bad Lag

Hello I have a fast Computer and play top of the line games on my internet... I have recently started playing Graal again, but it is giving me horrible lag spikes... So bad I can't even battle right in Era. What are some way to fix/speed up this.

He right I play top of the line games, my ISP is great. I have no clue why Graal is so slow

Poor scripting based on the staff side. Contradict that, honey

Oh I see, so every Classic server is poorly scripted? I didn't know that, thanks for sorting that out for me! Also, please do explain why Graal takes about 60 - 80% of the CPU while WoW only takes like 30%?

This is Tech Support, not the silly argument forum; let's keep it that way, please :).

I did ask a question about CPU usage y'know. :asleep:

Actually, yes. But Era is worst, it lags really bad. Though. that may also have to do something with the big differences between WoW and Graal. Why do you always compare a single pixel to a 1280*1024 wallpaper? :]

Because when the single pixel takes up more bytes then the wallpaper, something is messed up.

I guess because when people go and play an online game like WoW, with 3D, superior graphics, and 10x more people online, then to go a game like Graal they expect Graal would be performing better. Of course, graphics have nothing to do with latency. Unless of course this person is talking about graphical problems and not lag.
The problem comes from the fact that it's hard to pinpoint when there are so many variables involved when each server scripts it own stuff that could slow it down.

Oh, so now I can make many timeouts and it won't effect my CPUs performance. Thanks for clearing that up!!!

Because Graal has its own open-ended code which requires a lot more processing power to comprehend (the engine will never know what comes next in a script, it always has to look at the script to find out what comes next). With the advent of GS2, this became a lot better since scripts are now semi-compiled by the server when updated. But scripts still will never be able to achieve the power of a game that is pre-compiled all together such that every gear works in harmony.
