Graal X Hirings
2 Attachment(s)
Hey everyone.
Graal X is hiring Level Designers, Graphics Artists, and Gani Developers. We're freshening up and reorganizing our current cities before we build our other two planned islands. The economy has changed greatly over time, because we're now focusing on our Economic Policy, Business District, and our Residential Area. Island 1 will be mainly for business. Gangs, the amount of weapons (if any), and violence will be limited when entering this city. This island is for those who have a substantial amount of money, or in need of more, and in search for jobs. Other than the many sub-missions offered to players to help them get on their feet financially, player owned businesses are now available. Owners will need to depend on finding hard and dedicated workers to keep their company alive. But the owners can't just sit down while their workers work. They'll have to make sure and keep a good eye on competitive prices, as well as their competition's new merchandise. As far as residential areas go, you may find mansions or penthouse apartments around the area. These islands are not limited to only the higher/middle class players. These islands will be open to all. Island 2 will be for those who are financially stable, but have to keep a responsible budget. Although we've made earning money entertaining, it'll also be somewhat time consuming and take a lot of dedication on your part to reach higher levels. Most residential neighborhoods will be developed here. Island 3 will be where players will start. Sub Missions will be offered to help you get on your feet, as well as inform you about the server, what you need to do, and how you can become an icon on the playerworld. Unlike most servers where players are at a disadvantage because of other players who have skill, weapons, and money, you wont have to worry about a massive PK fest where you get so frustrated you don't even want to play. http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/2...ntialssit7.png http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/5...tialss2fb9.png http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/9...inessssjg0.png http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/1...essinssiv9.png http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/7...ssinss2in8.png Graal X is simply trying to create creative and unique, but not too farfetched, ideas that players have not experienced on any other server. We're hiring as many development staff as possible so we can develop on more than one area. We have a good amount of the overworld developed, many ideas being thought out and tested, and our development is at a steady and rapid pace. If you're interested, see the contact information below: Contacting Joey (Manager): Server PM Joey mainly concentrates on Scripting, so if you'd like to tryout, he's the one to talk to. If you encounter any bugs or script errors, contact him about that as well. Contacting Drastic Vendetta (Co Manager): Server PM Forum PM AIM: Drastic Vendetta MSN: [email protected] E-Mail: [email protected] I handle all other hirings: Levels, Gani, Graphics, and Sound Affects, and in charge of all Overworld Development. I'm sorry, but at this time we aren't in need of FAQ/GP/ET/PR or any non development staff. Those who do have those non development tags are temporary. We have cases where Graal X has up to 33 players or more, and we temporarily hire those who have been around the longest and are willing to help out others so me and joey don't get bombarded with questions. Contacting Silent (Levels Team): Server PM AIM: SilentShadow48 E-Mail: [email protected] Silent is a very active staff member, and has a great deal of server information the rest of the staff can't help you with. If you can't get in touch with myself or Joey, feel free to talk with him about concerns or questions you have about the playerworld. Levels Team Tryout Requirements: Create three unique inside levels and three outside levels. Make sure you don't create three similar restaurants or three similar playerhouses. Different variations are what we're looking for. When creating outsides, think realistically. Creative detail is a key factor in this tryout. Rather than sending me a grass level with a few trees and a building, add some sandpits, water holes, etc. Gani Tryout Requirements: We need Gani Designers more than -any- staff position right now. Seeing as how Graal X has custom bodies, we would like those who want to tryout for Gani to get any Graal X gun image and gani all angles of it (idle, walk right, walk left, up, and down) to the new Graal X bodies. Graphics Tryout Requirements: Send six of your best and finished images of your choice. They can not be head/sword/shield edits, or signs saying "Graal X Restaurant". Images related to modern city is appreciated, but if you have graphics that are of another genre, they will be accepted, too. I advise those trying out to log on graal x and get a feel of the color scheme. Notice there aren't any bright or exuberant colors throughout the playerworld. Don't send me a big happy bright red stop sign and expect it to match everything. Want to tryout for Levels Team but don't know how to load the tileset? I've uploaded a levels.zip file that will help you. Want to tryout for Gani/Graphics Team but don't know where the bodies or graal x images are? Go to Start, My Computer, C: Drive, your Graal Folder, Levels, and either your Webgifs folder or Images folder. Graal X images begin with ci_, g_, or gx_. I'll upload an attatchment of bodies for gani tryouts. Send all your work to [email protected], or feel free to send me an Instant Message on AIM. Graal X would like to thank Icarus for the bodies and those who donated images/ganis/levels to Graal X. It is greatly appreciated. |
Sounds good except for the whole island idea. Why does everything have to be separated by making islands, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
|
Yeah, Graal X does look nice. Keep up the good work guys.
Also thumbnail the image links. |

It is bad to run searches for things, and viewing a bunch of dead links in the future. |
Looks good, but the sprites make me think "Limp Bizkit"
|
dose anyone not notice that its an era rip off?
and era's not even that good in my opinion... |

I've tried going back on many old threads to view attachments only to view an attachment completely unrelated because the attachment filename was recycled. |

Those cliffs are just destroying every nice thing around it with their misshapenness.
|
Maybe that's the reason they are hiring level designers? I hope..

After how sexy their custom bodies are, I hope they got the GFXers down..

I suggest you stop coming around attempting to bash anything, Mr. What's wrong with my Gs1 script. That comment was not necessary at all for you to say to try and bash someone's PW. For your information, a lot of the things from GX were donated from Icarus, and for you to even COMPARE that Icarus looks like Era, makes your seem even more like you have no clue at all what you're talking about, OR your judgment and eyesight is VERY, VERY bad. I know that DV and Joey have been working hard on GX for a while now having worked with DV personally myself. Don't come around bashing projects that are twice, even three times as better as your's is. I suggest you cut the crap, because GX > Graal Legacy, period. |

Ohhhh god, I remember back to the old GX days, with crappy takzhe, nubby shadow recon, sora and cythus, flak or whatever his name was, the LAT admin, the horrible shops, the pond where everyone fished at, AND ME BEING ET ADMIN LOLLZZ. I guess I have to thank KuJi, else I probably wouldn't be playing graal to this day if I didn't stay addicted to reallyreallyold GX |
Wow talk about going off topic haha.

Brad...didn't I say the "stuff donated from Icarus" ?

Hey folks let's try and get back on track.
I've taken ideas and suggestions from friends and a number of players about some improvements on the playerworld graphic and level wise. Well, the logical ones. Sometime next week or later i will be posting updated graphics and levels for you folks. I appreciate those who gave constructive criticism. |

Continuation.
Hello, I am silent48, previous LAT Admin of Graal X. Please let me get into detail with what I am looking for. I am looking for the following in inside levels:
1. Detail 2. Originality 3. Lines, movement 4. Something that doesn't look like a box Outside levels: 1. Detail, dont just add grass, a square block, and a tree. 2. Originality 3. Movement If you have any questions conact me via: PM (usually on era and gx) <-- Nvm, only gx AIM - Silentshadow48 - S20Katesloverboy Email - [email protected] Cell - Taken out due to 1000000000 strange men calling me. |
You don't give out your personal number online. That was really intelligence to give strangers your personal number over a game. >.>

No, I'm not and nice try, trying to make yourself look good by using larger words then normal, It doesn't work for you, GX does look better then Era Graphically, I mean honestly, I would post images of both but I am to lazy to do that right now, But I know first time I logged on GX when they got the new tiles I went "Looks a little like Atruis Right now" Shows that I haven't played GX very long but, still, I also went "Wow, A lot different then era" I dont know how you don't see the difference

What are you talking about? I said GX graphics are better stupid, "Read" Before you post next time...........If you knew me you would know I hate era......and if you were not referring to what I said but what the other person said, My Appoligys.

For some reason you people are implying that by saying that GX graphics might look like eras that the GX graphics are not better than eras. I starting to think you guys aren't understanding artistic side of this situation. I see that a lot of the line art is very similar but at the same time these tiles go pass just line art. At the same time its hard think up a different way to draw up these tiles. But it sure isn't impossible and sure wouldn't take to much effort in thinking about it imo. Definitely not with things like google on the net.
Charlie and the fact that you said that you hate era, just made all your comments completely Bias. |

On the other hand, GX has made massive changes, such as custom bodies (Very sexy, might I add. Sad they are Icarus, or I would prop GX more then they deserve right now.), AMAZING tiles, just basically an amazing server. If anything, I'd call GX's gameplay and ideas a bit like era, reminds me of it, since theres the toll wall, like eras water-walled island, southwhatever, I don't play Era ;( Then they had the same style business system as Era, they probably still have it. So yeah, they got awesome, no wait.. The GREATEST images for a modern server on graal, but crappy gameplay. PERIOD. |
I'm not going to go off and say, blah blah, this is an Era rip, because that's not constructive. I'm just going to give my artistic input. I'm definitely not going to say one is better than the other either.
Whether it's intended or not, the tiles hold a very similar style to Era. The tiles have the same blurry, filtered, detailing that Era's has. For example, the sidewalk, which is hard, rough rock, has a blurry detail, just like Era's. The sidewalk is also nearly the same height as Era's, nearly up to the character's knees. All the different kind of things that can go on top of modern buildings, air conditioner units, piping, vents, and one of the two things is the smoke stack that Era has, and quite similar. There's a lot of styles that could be done with a modern tileset, take a look at some of Tom's threads in the graphics section. Though it's not surprising to sit and see a server like Era for so long that you end up getting 'inspired' unconsciously, and it bleeds into your work. But the styles are similar, let's just say if the tiles were placed in Era, they wouldn't stand out too much. Now if you're going to bite my head off for this, then meh, whatever. |

I like the way you put it.

Updates!
Graal X Living: We are working on adding ideas that have never been done before, and we're moving along quite well. Graal X will have features such as the lower, middle, and upper class, economic policy, environmental safety, and the importance of financial stability. No, this doesn't mean it'll be all work and no play. Surprisingly, all of this will be more entertaining than it is tedious and bland. Jobs: Start out by doing mini missions, fishing, deliveries, selling items (flowers/fruit/metal items/etc.), helping store owners create productivity, chopping wood, and many more. Residency & Professional Grade Jobs: There are several business districts throughout the gmaps that allow players to get that professional feeling, like working in an office and interacting with businesses. For instance, if there's a large Electronics Store in one of the Mini-Mall Outlets on GX, you can work for the Base Company, also known as the Core Industry Building or Headquarters, and what you and everyone else does decides the future of the company store chain. This also allows for big bucks and living in high class Condo's or Mansions. If you're poor, like everyone will be when they start playing, then you'll probably live somewhere around the lower class housing, which consists if store outlets and townhouses: http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/8537/ss2dl9.th.jpg Quests: Graal X has developed ideas for quests that go beyond the usual "find the item the homeowner misplaced and you'll recieve a reward". One of the many ideas is Vigilante Missions offered for the player; a bounty hunt if you will: http://img178.imageshack.us/img178/8538/testas0.th.jpg This is just one of many other creative and unique ideas that is being put to test. Player Interaction: Just like the quest, we're going to try and make it where the player is able to duck behind certain things when in a gunfight, and when that object takes too many bullets, depending on what object you're ducking behind, it may eventualy wear away! When you're walking along the city sidewalks you'll pass up Hot Dog Stands, Ice Cream Parlors, Newspaper Stands, and other things. Graal X is just trying to be as unique and creative as possible, and implement new ideas that no playerworld has done yet, while not getting too illogical and farfetch'd. Hirings: Graal X is still hiring all development positions. If you'd like to tryout for any staff position, feel free contact me! All my contacts are under my avatar. Thanks folks and i hope you enjoy everything we're trying to do! :D |
