Great detail, good overall use of tiles..

I give it a 9 of 10, the building in the middle looks a bit strange.. But cool either way.

Bl0nkt 04-02-2007 03:09 AM

.....
I was not expecting that.

Something along the lines of that. It's a great level, that you [supposedly] made. I'm surprised.

Luda 04-02-2007 04:42 AM

The tileset is horrible.

maximus_asinus 04-02-2007 04:45 AM

The level is average. Look passed the tileset, and you'll see a number of errors.

zim5354 04-02-2007 05:33 AM

Wow there are a lot of tile errors in that.

Kittah 04-02-2007 06:55 AM

Being honest that level is boring and the tileset is horrible. I'm sick of seeing people trying to add texture (or whatever you want to call it) to the existing tileset by adding contrasting speckles to the grass (and cliffs etc.) while darkening the whole thing to get rid of the original contrast anyway.

Eronix, your eyes must be missing.

Lord Sephiroth 04-02-2007 07:58 AM

My eyes are angry at you

WanDaMan 04-02-2007 08:38 AM

Wow, kewl house in the middle :D Nice job! :)

Shaun 04-02-2007 09:25 AM

The grass is far too cluttered. Trying to make a level "realistic" through overdetailing grass is inconsistent with the other ground types and just simply doesn't match the game or tileset.

Chompy 04-02-2007 12:35 PM

Isn't that the Zodiac tileset..? And why is the level starting with 'zod'?

yeah it is, i was trying out for zodiac lat, they said no, so i wanted ur opinion :D

warp2ukew 04-02-2007 04:36 PM

My insticts tell me to believe that you did not make this level, but whatever.

I see loads of tile erros in your grass, and your use of tall grass (right where you are standing) is horrible.

On a good note, the overall feel of the level is pretty nice.

5/10 (Fix the errors, that turns into a 7 or 8)

Post some more levels too

[digg +1] Couldn't agree more with this comment.

theHAWKER 04-03-2007 01:31 AM

i tryed to fix up some tile errors but im not sure what u mean about texture :(

and what do u mean "i dont think u made this"?
is it good or bad?

Ducati_Link 04-03-2007 03:55 AM

It's a awful tileset. Try setting the level in a normal tileset and re-submitting it. To be honest.. the tileset is so ugly that it makes any level look ugly.

If you are adamant about the tileset then I would say:

Detail: Reduce most of the ground detail to make the level look alot less cluttered. The tileset already does that for you x_x. Swamp grass errors and one of the seats have a screwed base.

Paths: They are pretty boring and standard. Make them thinner and more and move around more. Imagin flowing water ruttered out the paths and now it's dry [and somehow became flat.]

Houses: I don't know what houses are on Z.. I havn't played there. I would suggest not useing the hedging on the roof like that.. has no charm. If anthing have the brown as the base and, if you have the right tiles, cut odd shapes out of the roof and have hedge replace that. [if for some reason you need hedge up there].
The house stright ahead is alright. but the roof is again way to cluttered, specialy for this tileset.

Here is the level in a edited version.. but it's only idea based. It's not a set level I made for a finished product!! Just suggested ideas on this like the paths, swamp, lesser detailing [some areas I didn't detail at all, so ignore that].. and the man on the roof isn't for-real.

p.s I dont have windows gfx so they dont show. wasn't deleted.
p.p.s I notice the big error on the bottem side of the chimney, south west house.

Taikun 04-03-2007 02:08 PM

that tileset is aweful

ok here is the fixed version of the level without the tileset.
(its fixed because zodiacs tiles are unique)
(and without the tiles set there are green specs on the roof corners>_< ...)

Kittah 04-03-2007 05:40 PM

Post a picture, I don't want to download your level.

Codein 04-06-2007 09:40 PM

I dislike the way you have randomly placed useless objects.

Why is there a letter box on the edge of a cliff instead of infront of a house?

Maybe it's the accepted style of Graal level design but I don't really like the way objects are randomly placed to fill a level up. It doesn't really make a level any more interesting when you do that, in my opinion.
