I don't think so, but your best luck would be to build a new house.

Googi 03-31-2007 08:10 PM

A way to change your lock should probably be added.

Fraszle 03-31-2007 08:21 PM

Yes, that would be great. Scamming could go up. "Looking for a roomate.", said Billy "Me!", said the stupid and rich newb -=Newb drops rares in house=- -=Billy changes locks=-

But he doesn't need to change the lock to steal the other guy's rare items. He can already do that the way things are now (except that there's no roomating), he just has to go into the house and pick them up.

Fraszle 03-31-2007 09:50 PM

but then the guy might come in and steal his? or sell the key to other people.

He's going to steal another guy's items and then leave his own items in the house for him to steal? I don't think so.

Does it have to be Billy?

No one would be stupid enough to do that, anyways.

Dunno how keys and houses work on g2k2... but have an original keys, and have copies of the keys. Only the person with the original key can change the lock, not anyone with the copies.

kenyonandelliot 04-01-2007 06:11 AM

No.. The one that has his account name on the house when you right click it should be able to change the lock. Maybe make a lock an option on an anvil and make us make a new one.

Fraszle 04-01-2007 06:31 AM

no, you can give out master keys. therefor when the other person goes in the account can change. so then he can change the locks.

Scamming is a problem anyway.
Say someone sells someone a house. The key is handed over. The new owner puts his stuff inside the house. A few days later. The old owner comes in and steals his stuff because he had a spare key.

MajinDragon 04-01-2007 02:20 PM

Why did you make a copy of your house key in the first place?
I think there should be an option to remove your old door and place a new one with a new lock at the price of a few boards, nails and small ammount of iron. To build a new door you would need the master key to the house.

Oh, so those that repair your house for you can change the lock for you, as the name of your house would change to their name, even if they don't have the key? :\ Smooth thinking...

But I agree with majin, be able to change out doors for a small amount of iron, boards, and such. :3

Huh?

kenyonandelliot 04-02-2007 12:13 AM

If you let someone repair your house then their name is on the house? Thats not good.. So whoever has master key should be able to change locks then if thats true.

jonnyrocks2 04-02-2007 12:47 AM

*Motion* It doesn't transfer control, but I've watched someone repair another persons house and the name listed for owner change to the one that repaired said house.

Might be a bug. =3
