Clientside system time?

Is it possible to get the OS clock of the player?

I'm working on a simple news ticker but I want the player to be notified how long ago the news item was created by timestamping it. Obviously this would be best in their local time so is it possible to get the value of their system clock?

Thanks.

No, not that I'm aware of. You could make a clock script and have them set there timezone with it.

Wouldn't a clientside timevar2 be the os's time? (Assuming there is a client timevar2 here)

I'm fairly sure timevar2 clientside gives local time, however that's maybe subject to change, I'm not sure.

Last I checked under Windows timevar2 was how long the client has been opened.

Now you mention it, you're right; on Linux and Mac, it returns local time since 1970.

timevar2 is your system clock time on the clientside.
