What do you prefer?

Just another little bit of research i want to do ^_^

What do you prefer between real-time action, or turn based :) Vote away.

No tactics? :(

I choose RealTime then :x

konidias 03-01-2007 07:34 PM

I chose real-time but I really like them both evenly... It's just that there are far less good examples of a turn based online game. If it was setup nicely and had time limits for turns and an actual reason to take turns (for strategy planning) then I'd enjoy that as well. One good thing about turn based is that you definitely don't have to worry about lag as much. Even people with dialup can play turn based games.

Real Time, turn based restricts things too much imo

Realtime, definately.

I don't like taking turns period. Turn base games seem like glorified pokemon card games to me lol.

PrinceDark 03-02-2007 01:56 AM

for online play i prefer real-time, unless you do turn-based where a bar fills up and then you can keep attacking. would piss me off having to wait forever for other players to make their turn.

To be honest, we've never had a Turn Based playerworld, so I don't know which I'd prefer as I've never played one on Graal to compare.

Therefore, that leaves me with real time, which I think I like better anyway on an online game.

Devil 03-02-2007 02:29 AM

Turn based.

But this will probably go nowhere anyway.

pokemon? why do people bring up pokemon, great games like chrono trigger and final fantasy 3 (6 in japan I believe) used it and both are good games.

grandia 2 also used a turn based system and I liked like that. :]

What are you talking about? There are tons of great turn-based games. I'm not even going to list them if you think they are rare. You must have really high standards.

aparently you do because you play graal...

I would have to say, turn based strategy, on a grid based battle system. it would be awsome to build up a team of 12-15 players and battle it out in a chess like manner with other people online.

would be cool to make it to where if you lose, the other player gets to take a character. lol

i'm not saying 12-15 different people playing on one team, I'm talking about having a team of npc's that you control by yourself. attacking another team with 12- 15 nps'c on it. people would control these teams. not just one character for one person.

eg. I have a team of 12 npc's ranging from lvl 10-20, you have a team of npc's ranging from 10-20, I say lets battle our teams, winner gets to choose a character to take from other team.

It would be like vandal hearts, or shining force, but you would be able to put your team up against someone elses team.

there could be like so many different classes. and when you reach certain levels you get promoted. and on your last promo if you find a certain item you would advance to a special class for the class yoyu were advancing in

Just an idea. That would be the ultimate mmorpg. someone can use if they like.
