I'll use this kitty cat picture as an example.

Kitten number 1 wants to get to kitten number 4. But kitten number 3 is blocking the way. But kitten number 2 is friends with number 1 and 3, so he asks kitten number 3 to move. Now kitten number 1 can get to kitten number 4. So a proxy server is kitten number 2.

Basically I'm saying, is when there is a firewall or a website is blocked when your at school, a proxy server ignores the blocker and lets you past it.

E.G. naughtysites.com (That better not exist. The first one did...)
"Oh my! The school's firewall has blocked such naughty sites that are not meant for my eyes! No worries, I will just use the google translator to bypass the firewall!"

Not sure if that's a proxy, but that's how I do it. ;o

pr0xy is an automatic redflag for our accounts. we can barely get to some things, without being noticed. I think they watch me, so I can't give details on how we do it.
