1.) I personally don't like the design - but those thing vary a lot.
2.) Definitely usable - really big, but if you resize it as a 24bit PNG it should be usable under Graal.

1. No, in my opinion. It looks horrible.
2. Not really O.o

1) Not bad, but not great either.

2) In Graal? Well, it could be, but it would look friggin' rediculous.

Zodiac and Maloria seems to have a a thing for oversized weapons, so why not. Go for it.

Whatever works. I guess I can't say I hate them, since I loved Cloud's broadsword, but that's about the only one I can vouch for. Size doesn't always matter though!

You can attach a file, and then display it like an [IMG] using the [attachement=ID#] tag.

I never knew that. :-O Cool.

I don't understand why on earth you would need that many views. Usually eight will suffice.

You asked if it could be used.... Well, not in that format it can't. There is no way for Graal (or most any game for that matter) to cut out the frame to use. Since you have them at an angle and so close together.

Easiest way to aviod this is to make sure that with your sprite layout, you can use the mouse select box to cut each image individually. (without including any other frames)

For better looking animation? Eight won't suffice for jack. Even the classic Graal sword has 16 directions.

Bomy Island swords have 32 directions. :]

Here's an example of frame layout. Technically most swords only need 16 directions but the other 16 shown here are including swinging the object 360 degrees... So if the object is not a mirror image of itself, you'd need those other directions. Like an axe would have a large blade on one side and no blade (or a smaller blade) on the other side. If you swing the axe in one direction the big end of the blade would be the attacking side... but without the reversed direction, the little blade/no blade would be the attacking side, so that wouldn't work. :p

Maloria and Zodiac had eight view weapons, and the motions were still fluid.

not like they changed directions much...

Draenin 02-04-2007 12:50 AM

At the rate of how fast most of the ganis went on those servers, it doesn't matter much anyway. The classic sword slash averages around 9 frames in any direction, whereas newer ones only average about three. It's usually a six-frame difference. And if the three-frame has a quicker gani, you don't even percieve the missing frames most of the time.

Hey do you make that as a vector? Seems like you must've to get all those directions :)
