Level Link Outlines

I don't know if anyone else finds this or not.. But as nice as the level link outlines are, they get in the way when leveling.. specialy gmaps and such. Wouldn't it be such a nice feature to hide them? Like hide NPC. I doubt it would ever happen, or be possible, but just a thought.

I've never really had a problem with links blocking my leveling to be honest, especially on GMaps. Maybe I don't understand what you mean, I've never had a problem with links in leveling unless I hit a house link while scrolling on GMap and it warps me to that level, that gets kind of annoying.

Infernix 01-24-2007 05:47 AM

On gmaps Ive actually deleted a large amount of them and depended on the actual gmap file to just link the levels. (Not on the current OW seph)

Asking for a level editor update?
Keep dreaming.

Ducati_Link 01-24-2007 06:01 AM

Inferno, that actully works? how?

And yeah I know, Excaliber..

excaliber7388 01-24-2007 06:38 AM

Probably using a script instead of links?
*guess*

Infernix 01-24-2007 07:09 AM

Create the gmap....then while your in certain spots of the levels just open up the lil level warp generator and delete the yellow boxes in the level.

But I wont be doing this because I not sure how to relink the level through the gmap file.

WanDaMan 01-24-2007 09:07 AM

I'd love for this feature to be implemented! It's annoying having to press the play button to make sure it fits correctly :[

And yeah, Gmap documents work as links. Just make sure it's set up correctly in the gmap file :)

Ducati_Link 01-24-2007 04:57 PM

Hey Wan <3
So you can remove all links to do with the gmap in the game, as longs your gmap is set up? and there is no problems?! And works online no problems?

Edit:
Okay, just tested this out on a mine I have been making. As nice as it is to work with no lines.. I think in some cases im going to need to know where they are.. or were.. So yeah, I still vouch for the hide/show Level lines. And plus it's kinda a pain in the *** deleting all the links. :P

Edit2:
After pressing 'play' and going back into the editor.. all the links come back anyway. Have to save 1 by 1.

I wouldn't go around removing the level links. I'd keep them...o-o

Hey Ducati!

Yup, if the NPC server crashes you're screwed x_x .

Don't expect any updates of the editor, apparantly they've already implemented "layers" for levels? I've misinterpreted that feature - apparantly it's just an adaption of addtiledef2 >_<

zell12 01-24-2007 11:14 PM

I hope they do add layers, I remember suggesting this a long time ago.

Something like RPG Maker. :p

Crono 01-24-2007 11:32 PM

this would be a nice feature, sometimes the link lines do get in the way...

maybe we should tell maniaman :P

Maniaman 01-25-2007 12:07 AM

feature request noted.

Yeah, I agree. It's certainly best to have them there. But so nice to work without them. When is the new editor due?

zokemon 01-25-2007 12:05 PM

Layers already exist on Graal.

Ducati_Link 01-25-2007 02:10 PM

In which anyone can use, on classic servers?

Yeah.. I used a OLE that could switch between 0-4 layers. I didn't find the layering stuff that special but I don't really know what to do with it anyways ^^ .
