Why have it? I cant seem to find a way to view others rep so it seems sorta usless....

Some members choose the option to Hide their reputation from the public. For the users who don't hide it, look under their post count. It's a red or green block. Leave your mouse over it for a second, and it'll tell you what he/shes reputation is ranking. It's ranged so, i think 1-20 is "account is on a distinguished road".

For me, I had 0 reputations points and it was showing "account is on a distinguished road".

The title, "account is on a distinguished road" starts from 20+.

Here's how it goes:

User is infamous around these parts -999999
User can only hope to improve -50
User has a little shameless behaviour in the past -10
User is an unknown quantity at this point 0
User is on a distinguished road 20
User will become famous soon enough 50
User has a spectacular aura about 150
User is a jewel in the rough 250
User is just really nice 350
User is a glorious beacon of light 450
User is a name known to all 550
User is a splendid one to behold 650
User has much to be proud of 1000
User has a brilliant future 1500
User has a reputation beyond repute 2000

So I ask again, why did my green box give me that message? I have 1 reputation point, I should be getting that "unknown quantity" message

The only explanation can be that Unixmad changed that list, obviously.x_x
I got this list from the thread he posted awhile back announcing he was going to enable the reputation system, sorry.

You mean that rep system they stole from the unofficial forums that no one rlly knows exactly how to use nor realizes exist?

Yeah, and nobody is ever going to get past 500 rep in either direction because 90% of the time you want to give rep you can't.
