Sunset [wip]

Hm a sunset.
It needs clouds, and some foreground detail. Still, what do you think?

Crono 12-04-2006 04:38 AM

the colors are too cheap...i know it doesnt sound right but yeah.

i like it overall XD make the sun brighter

Mykel 12-04-2006 04:46 AM

Yeah, the brightness and reach of the yellow rays from the sun has to be bigger.

Luda 12-04-2006 05:03 AM

It's crappy, sorry I dislike it. Maybe you could make the light surround the sun instead of having some big beam of light everywhere.

Em 12-04-2006 05:09 AM

The grass is very generic. It looks really textured, and it's very straight.
The colors don't work well together, they are in conflict.

Why does the grass take up so little room ?
Why is the sun/rays so small ?

You want a sunset? Refer to the one I made which Andrew uses as his sig.

Wow.. it's a masterpiece!

The blue is too strong. Try using a lighter blue.
It really just looks like the sky is a gradient and the grass is a texture, this could probably be replicated in all of 2 minutes.

Try focusing the orange and pink hues around the sun, instead of making a horizontal band across the sky with them.
And add some clouds so the image doesn't look so plain.

Actually, just use a reference D:

Very cool drawing :D

As for the blue...it's because of dust and particles in the atmosphere refracting the light of the sun to shorter wavelengths.

Infernix 12-04-2006 06:53 AM

Ya know if you had of put detail into the grass and the made the image less blury lookin it would be good.

Everything is too perfectly aligned. A sunset doesn't have exact measurements for it's separate shades and colors.

CidNight1142 12-04-2006 08:12 AM

I'd have to say steer clear of gradients on the sky. They look pretty cheap.

Add clouds and make the horizon...not so boring.

lancelot9 12-04-2006 03:09 PM

i once was walking home from the mall durring dusk.. the clouds where purple, but behind the cloudes the actual sky was orange and blue.. it was really cool.. and ontop of it all it started to sprinkle when it was light out
