Thoughts on house image ?

This is a house that I made for Mythic Legends. The entire sever will be in this style.

What do you think? Critique would be nice.

The chimney needs a bit of work..doesnt feel like it hits the rest of the house....the bodies also dont fit the styling of the house.

^ Enough said....Pretty cool lookin house though :) Kinda reminds me of GK though.

Yeah It reminds me of GK too, but i'll still just give it a major "ehh", I don't really know why I don't like it.

Very fun stuff. Good to see new activity that's got a fair ammount of quality.

Galdor 10-14-2006 04:04 PM

awesome stuffs =)

Rapidwolve 10-14-2006 04:31 PM

I don't like the body, but other than that nice.

You can make this server just like GK :)

zephirot 10-14-2006 04:53 PM

Nice

Zideruic 10-14-2006 05:02 PM

If you tweaked the outline I bet you could make the character fit muuuuuch better with the house.

Em 10-14-2006 07:10 PM

revised the chimney and outlines:

It looks like a cool GK knockoff with the architecture.

warp2ukew 10-14-2006 07:46 PM

I don't really like it X.x. Plus the character looks really awkward with it.

I think the character just looks really small, and we're not used to having our characters actually be able to fit in our houses. :D

xXziroXx 10-14-2006 09:40 PM

Heeey, you better not be calling my server 'GK' - ya'll hear me? Sure, we will be using terrain but with our own tileset and graphics. The terrain is seen too rarely on Graal, yet its actually pretty awesome..

And Mykel, all stuff will be 'normal sized' so to say. And all equipment will be seen on the character, plus there will be no oversized weapons *cough* Zodiac and Maloria *cough*

Mythic is a fantasy server, with no actuall 'rules' made yet.. I know that I aim for something similar to the enviroments of FF7 & FF9 mixed together, but of course that is all I want to 'take' from them.

Oh my gosh, did I say too much information about Mythic now? I better learn to not release stuff like this to you guys..

And Em, nice house. ;)

I think it's the fact that the doorknob is the size of the character's head... and the support beams are like redwood trees.

The perspective is too dramatic. Unless you plan on everything behind the house coming to a central point, I don't see the use of the inward roof as any sort of benefit.

Also the character does not match the house at all. I'm not even talking about size. Here are some things to note:

- The character has a dark outline while the house does not (or it sort of does... it seems like the left side of the roof has an outline but not the rest?)
- The character has way less contrast in colors than the house. You have ultra dark black shadows on the house but the character hardly has any intense shading.
- The house is heavily textured while the character is smooth as a baby's... well you know
- The character feels more pixelated while the house feels more... photoshopped.
- The amount of different colors used in the house is overwhelming when in comparison to the character.

How do you not like that?

Pretty cool, man.

warp2ukew 10-16-2006 03:51 AM

I'm guessing the character and the house do not match due to different artist for each?

Dan3099 10-16-2006 04:37 AM

Although I agree with the perspective issues mentioned- it looks great to me aesthetically :)
