Broken Rank Problem
 

I edited a rank. It's there, but it says it doesn't exist.

Why does it do that?

Yea, its been around for a while. There are a couple of bugs you should get aqquainted with.

I have noticed a few issues with the rank system as well, similair to not renaming or just plain stubbornness to do anything you want it to.

Been around forever... you'll learn a certain order so things like this don't happen.

When you have this problem staff is the only one who can delete them.

It would help if you could tell me what rank is broken (rank title/name)

It's random. I get requests to delete ranks now and then, because the leaders are not able to change them. It must be a scripting problem. All kingdoms have this problem.

Well next time keep it there so that I can check it (at least one) :)

For your Debugging purposes I have kindly recreated the incident reported.

**Ranks TEST with details

- Selecting any rank causes "add" button to stop functioning correctly, and instead shows the currently selected rank instead of bringing up a new rank window. This is however correctable by selecting a players name, but the new rank window doesnt work properly then. It replies "That Rank does not exist"

- Rank bug found when attempting to rename "testrank1" in forest kingdom rank list. Details, the rank was placed under the parent rank of Queen (Tari), and then renamed from "testrank1" to "testrank" in the name field of the window. After clicking upon "update" the rank would show neither name nor title when attempting to view it. It is also impossible to remove this rank at this time.

+ After selecting a rank the leader can right click on a rank and choose add new rank. If a certain rank such as Queen is right clicked on, you have that rank allready in the new ranks window as a parent rank, meaning you will be placing that rank under the Queen rank for this example. This was the only way I could add in a test rank for you to debug, because I had allready clicked upon a rank in the first place (see above comment).

Ok fixed the Add-Rank button.
The problem with not being able to delete / view ranks seems to be connected to the renaming, will check that on Monday.

Ok finally fixed this problem, it will be corrected with the next npcserver restart.

How can you rename the king rank without breaking it? Just add a new one and delete the old king rank? That does sound awfully dangerous though.

And after that you can just rebuild a new rank system from scratch, right?
