Elephant

I need some criticism on this first draft please:

(just the elephant, not the mario) :p

Darkyoshi12345 10-02-2006 02:37 AM

The trunk looks a little weird, but overall it looks great. Oh, it may be me but it looks like the legs are too close to eachother.

Draenin 10-02-2006 02:38 AM

Ahahaha. That's great @ Mario body.

Darlene159 10-02-2006 02:39 AM

I like it, especially the ears and eyes. :)

Dan3099 10-02-2006 02:53 AM

Looks incredible. The only criticism I have is the tusks look a little flat.

Rapidwolve 10-02-2006 02:57 AM

Wow, thats probobly one of the best graphics ive seen on graal.

<3 10/10

Androk2 10-02-2006 03:08 AM

Trunk is too long, in that perspective it would be shorter no? But maybe I'm just crazy!

Tom 10-02-2006 03:24 AM

Thats had an injection of awesomeness...

Only thing id say is wrong is the trunk, its flat :o And also the wrinkles up the nose area could use a little AA and they would be perfecto.

Very nice. Only thing I would suggest, is shading on the trunk (instead of highlights) and, on the legs/feet as well. ^^

Zideruic 10-02-2006 04:52 AM

I thought that was on Delteria

Draenin 10-02-2006 04:57 AM

Nah, that was a different one. I'm sure Koni still has the original image for that one.

Zideruic 10-02-2006 04:58 AM

Gotcha :D

Zero Hour 10-02-2006 05:17 AM

Very nice. Although I'm not entirely confident in saying this there's something giving me the idea that they're sprites in a gani - something with the outlines. That's the only problem I have with it.

lancelot9 10-02-2006 05:32 AM

i like it alot

****ing love it o_o

Skrobo2 10-02-2006 09:01 AM

It's very nice. But, I have to agree with the trunk being flat and such.

trifle 10-02-2006 02:20 PM

Nice job, I really like it.
But I would be mad only thinking about making a sprite for it.

smirt362 10-02-2006 02:37 PM

Nice looking elephant.

konidias 10-02-2006 02:45 PM

Thanks for the comments. :) I'll definitely work on the trunk. I think it looks too long because it lacks better shading... because it really isn't too long I don't think. I also think I should darken the legs more as they are under the trunk/head... and about the legs being too close together, actually it's how elephant's legs are. It just seems like every time someone has drawn an elephant for Graal, they draw the legs really far apart. It's not a car, it's an animal, lol. :p

Oh and the finished product will have a decent shadow under it, the trunk will animate, the head will move, etc... so I think it will look a lot better in motion.

smirt362 10-02-2006 02:46 PM

You need little mouse creatures roaming arround that make them stampede.

And like, one magical elephant that can fly with it's ears, right? Am I right?

Draenin 10-02-2006 03:01 PM

If by right you mean terribly mistaken, yes.

It's really nice, but I think the trunk is out of porportions, it looks way too long :o

Haha, that made me laugh, really xD
I love that elephant <3 It just looks like an elephant, and not like a big, gray...'thing'..

That was like seeing a hemophiliac barely miss stepping on an open bear trap.

Eagle 10-03-2006 02:25 AM

Looks really good.

Galdor 10-03-2006 12:01 PM

very nice =)

Em 10-03-2006 05:57 PM

It looks pretty good overall.
Some things I noticed are the following:
- The tusks look a little flat and unthreatening
- The ears are perhaps to skinny horizontally, maybe try stretching them out a bit. Right now i'm given the impression that the ears are tucked behind the head.
- The trunk looks almost as if it lacks depth/perspective? Maybe it should get a little smaller as it travels. I'm not sure about this one, just a thought.

Overall I like it.

That's how elephant ears are most of the time.

If you do a google image search for elephants most of them have their ears relaxed. I think they only put their ears out when they're pissed off, or trying to fly.

lancelot9 10-04-2006 02:21 AM

thats not what he meant by tucked behind the head..
on the original image it looks like the head is actually overlapping the ears, like they arent connected

like this:
the right side is the original, left is my edit

Chompy 10-04-2006 06:58 PM

Id say that your edit is better, now the ears actually look connected to the head. :D
