Playerworld advertising
 

A couple of playerworlds staff have been going to other servers and spamming about their playerworld over masses and normal pms. I'm not aware of the current rule but it's gotten really annoying seeing as it just isn't one person, it's multiple people, most of which are staff for the playerworld they're advertising. I'm not sure of the success of this method of advertising but it's become really annoying to log onto your favorite server, turn on masses to sell something or for whatever reason, and getting spammed to hell with playerworlds seeking staff or seeking playercount. It's even worse when you get pms from individual people about a playerworld, you tell them you're not interested and to stop spamming you, and you get insulted or sworn at for the next half hour while on RC. >:( Put a stop to the mindless spamming of advertisements in exchange for items on other servers. (Or so I've heard)

I think this is illegal in some servers, but others allow it, just turn off your mass pm controls and you will stop recieving mass pms.

They then resort to normal pms. I put them on ignore and oh, guess what? BlockedAccount2 etc. hs pmed you.

If you dont want that stuff on your server, jail/ban them.

Yeah advertising other servers like that is up to a server's rules. Though if you think about it, if they don't stop after you tell them then it's harassment.

I always get people who argue with me about it...and then I disconnect them.

Well if they keep pming you over and over with different accounts it is harassment.

How about you just ignore them? ZOMG what a concept huh?!

But Advertising is sorta good aswell you learn about player worlds which can be fun if your used to playing 2 worlds

Well that cannot be fixed, its up to the staff of that server to take action. The only other way would be to have a control where you can ignore their computer meaning every account they have.

Speakin of which. Banning is like sillygoose.. tricks r for kids!

I get my brother to open a msg of every server and paste it.. when I finish and get every pm for the server up.. I click send 150 times.

GraalOnline needs badly a judicial system. Ah well.

THIS guy is the reason I made this thread. What's worse is that they only mass them to selected people so staff don't catch them.

My opinion:
Playerworld advertising should be allowed on the forums, not on other Playerworlds.
Why? It is like going to a Pepsi convention, and advertising Coke.
Playerworlds compete against each other. Obviously they don't want other playerworlds advertising on their server.
The forums, however, are for Graal as a whole. Advertising can be done here.

More people then you realize actually read these forums, even though they don't sign up.

Well, then it's still legal on GK, Zone, and Classic, assuming classic is considered a graal online world.

I see it a lot on Classic, yes...I also see it a lot on N-Pulse, although I'm not sure if it is legal there or not, but it used to be illegal there.

Why are you discussing what players have ZERO CONTROL of. If you have a problem with advertising you can make a ticket.. this thread is not needed AT ALL.

Er, members of the forums are also staff on Playerworlds? What is wrong with people discussing whether they think advertising should be allowed? We aren't discussing banning or jailing, we aren't discussing hacking, we aren't even discussing illegal activities. Making advertising illegal is an option for each playerworld. There is nothing illegal about this thread, and you wouldn't want it closed if you agreed with what the thread was about.

I just find this thread totally useless because nothing is gonna be done to stop me from using the global blist on my RC in which you can't avoid me from not doing such.

I think you misunderstood me. I'm not trying to stop you from doing anything, nor do I even have the power to. I was simply giving my opinion on the subject, which seems to be the purpose of the thread.

Alright.. whatever. This thread is a waste of time though. Private servers dont get spammed, only public which are on the serverlist via global list.

Unless stefan makes it so if your banned from a server you cant pm players to it.. you cant do much. z.z
