food depletes!?

It seems like the rate at which food depletes has been drastically sped up. Why?

SayianOozaru 09-26-2006 07:46 AM

I dont know, but I don't like having to spend 3-4 minutes getting to 100 food, then 10 minutes later having to do the same thing, all over again.

And I use a RoE, which gives me 100 resist depletion already.

Why is the system like that? Your character should only have to eat like 2 times every couple of hours...This whole 15 minutes then your out of food (and thats with 100 resist depletion) is getting old. Put the system back to what it was a year ago. (Where you didnt have to eat as much...)

Gothika 09-26-2006 08:56 AM

I think the rate of depletion increased so it would be encourge people to go to places like MMT more often.

MasterNuke 09-26-2006 09:21 AM

Mass farm jerky.

CidNight1142 09-26-2006 04:16 PM

How about a little realism? When was the last time you had to eat 50 pounds of giant animal leg that you found on the ground every hour?

Oh snap that was a question on Jeopardy last night..

Crono 09-26-2006 04:27 PM

Easy way around food is just killing Trexes in my opinion. I eat everything they drop and ready to go. =[

Last it was, when I was carrying 1175 kilogram with me. Normally I try to carry less but sometimes it's a little more. :)

Googi 09-26-2006 05:41 PM

If you want them to stop doing this stuff, stage a serious boycott of the MMT.

Doing what stuff?
there are currently 2 ppl being able to change levels, scripts and so on: Stefan and Björn. And both of them did not change anything the last months referable to the food depletes

"This stuff" includes nerfing restoration too.

Ravelyn 09-26-2006 07:01 PM

nerf restoration makes me a sad kitty.

lordbosh 09-26-2006 07:13 PM

yeah, restoration needs fixed. seriously. that was the benefit of having a decent wisdom level you know. and also made these damn pubs only for RP, like they claim to be already, even though i see people pilloried for things.

Also, dont claim the pillory is an RP jail. If it was, I could break out. You know I can generate dark energy around me that would easily burn through wood. If your RPing a jail also, have the GP 'try' to come arrest me, id like to see how sucessful they are with handling the Duke of Destruction.

Even if it is another story: if you prefer, we can forget the Pillories in the future. Then we will warn people one time and add a note in the comments of the acc. And the second time, no warning but ban!
Btw:
Get food

ReBorn_Spirit 09-27-2006 11:02 AM

Actually it seems that the more magic regeneration you have the more food you need to eat, but the thing I wonder, since when did you silly people ever get the idea of fat mages??

Mages arent fat.. infact, most fat people during this time era usually ended up something like a banker or tax colect or something silly and not powerfull.

But that's sort of the point, Mages aren't fat because they burn all their energy by turning it into a giant fireball and launching it into the midst of their enemies. That power has to come from somewhere you know.

:D good point!

smirt362 09-27-2006 07:19 PM

And with all the running arround they do, they have to be in pretty good shape.

Cubes 09-27-2006 09:34 PM

I had to switch from leuc to bile so I could get 30 power without getting my food bar raped.

Perfect example of double standards. People go LOL WHY ADD REALISM ITS JUST A GAME RIGHT then go around and add stuff like food systems to emulate real life. :/

Ravenblade1979 09-27-2006 10:36 PM

You see a good example to bring up would be GTA San Andreas. For years ppl have asked for more stuff and it got realistic with the working out and the eating.

Why bash gk for that. Its realistic isn't it..you need to eat.

Last time I checked realism does not mean eating every 5-10 minutes.

It's dumb... the game pretty much forces you to pray to Bile.

Ravenblade1979 09-29-2006 06:44 PM

You really don't have too. You can pray to whoever you want but as long as you have a sus ammy. Thats why they made that item.

So you basically just admitted you are locked into praying to bile or compromising your amulet slot for sustenance.

Draenin 09-29-2006 07:49 PM

Basically, yeah. That's exactly what it's like now. You can't wear any other amulet but sustenance and pray to any other god if you don't want your food guage to continually plummet.

CidNight1142 09-29-2006 07:54 PM

I sold off my speed ammy because I couldn't use it, since I have to wear a sust ammy every moment.

UltimatheChosen 10-27-2006 02:24 AM

Seriously, when is something going to be done about this? It is extremely difficult to get enough food without continually casting create food.

Magadal 10-27-2006 10:28 AM

Well, I think it has to be chosen. Not too realistic, but I think it should go down slower.

Ravenblade1979 10-27-2006 09:06 PM

Maybe what I can do once a week or once every two weeks...well stock pending..is maybe hand out a few free food items.

xAndrewx 10-27-2006 09:20 PM

Make a healing spell, if over used cause some kind of chemical reaction, as a spell would only make you think you're not hungry, when really you are.

Gothika 10-30-2006 09:29 AM

You would all be fine, and wouldn't really have to worry about eating if the Restoration spell still healed your hunger bar. And if someone killed you in the spar you would get your hunger bar full again. But those were changed a while ago.

UltimatheChosen 11-03-2006 02:19 AM

But now, food is a big problem for new players. In the first five to ten minutes, while they figure out how to play, their food bar will almost completely deplete, and corn just isn't gonna fill it fast enough. We lose too many people that way.

Gothika 11-03-2006 10:02 AM

It's like survival of the fitest, The people who really want to survie will do. They'll use alchemy to turn monster parts into gold, and sell those to the NPCs. Using the money to buy food. It's quite simple really. But it won't work if your lazy and just want it given to you.

UltimatheChosen 11-07-2006 02:50 AM

How are new people supposed to get alchemy (for non-alchemists) and a cauldron? And there isn't too much food to buy in shops, and MMT isn't always open. Make it so that new players won't leave in frustration over starvation.
