Robot Group Project?
 

Well, a post just had a pretty cool pic of a Robot on it, and I decided (since I've never actually helped with one) to see if you guys wanted to do a Group Project type thing.

I've already outlined and colored the head.

His lips are just terrible, Sayian - although I like the glass on his head.

Also, the way youve done the shine makes it look more flat. Its cylinder, so ya..you need to make it more cylinderishly lol

I guess you didn't notice :noob: I took the head he had made and turned it into a torso for a little bot. That's what I was referring to when I said "I'm that kind of guy".

I did'nt really do anything special, except i used less colours, go rid of the black lines that really didnt work with this piece. And made it look more, metal? :P And gave it its shape using the correct lighting .

Your shine takes a lot of the depth from it.

Yea, if it was my own piece id of spent more time on it but i just wanted to show what i was explaining. I lost the shape of the eyes and upper lip, but those can be easily made deeper with a few lines ;)

Put back the black outline on the right side and it would look much better Tom.

Im not going to do anymore, i dont want to take over the dudes thread. But he can look at that for tips and such.

Ahhh im eating and thats ewies. Plus its not my work, tips are there to help him :D now lets see what he does to his.

I started this about 2 hours ago.
It's 17 colours so far. I didn't really care about the colour palette at first, but now that I've done the head I realise that I probably shouldn't need any more colours for the rest of the robot (if I ever get around to completing it).

My simple pixel style might be a little easier to copy than the other more detailed heads that Saiyan and Tom have made.

That puts all the others to shame. Wow, nice job. :)

It's nice, but I disagree. Know why? The dithering he uses on it is too strong and takes away from the actual quality of the work.

But it is very nice, especially since we've not seen many graphics from him.

Nice work dem, i love how you did the green part, its well done.

I'm determined to finish this.
I did the chest-al area today. I couldn't see what was at the center of his chest because of the cupcake, so I just put some more green there, because I like the green.
And I started working on his arms. I'll do some more tomorrow, or tonight if I get bored. I need to do his torso before I do his arms, so that I can get the lengths right.

Once it's done I'll put all the pieces together to create the final robot!!!

Still only 17 colours.

I do kinda need to work on dithering, I only know the one type of dither between colours. I know there are other shapes and styles but I don't know what they are ;[

Morelike I never really felt the need to post on the official Graal forums before, even though I've been reading the graphics section for the past year and a half.

I've only started doing pixel art this week, so I thought I should learn and grow with these guys.
