Dragon Pets
 

I was reading a book last night (Starts with E, ends with N :P)
And I thought "Hmm... this is a good idea!"
The idea:
You find a cave. Its much more hidden than the other caves. You go in, give a dragon a bomy LORD heart, then they give you an egg. As soon as the egg hatches you are PERMANENTLY bonded to that dragon. You cant get any more until it dies, and it wont hate you no matter what.
It takes a decent amount of feeding too. You cant peg it because dragons are intelligent beings too, and will refuse captivity. You CAN however make a dragon shelter and they will stay near that area. The dragons will also be random colors, instead of two colors you can choose from. There will be many many colors that will be possible. Some dragons will be blue, others gold, some red, some green, etc. At two weeks of age, the dragon will be rideable, only on land though.
At a month of age, the dragon will be rideable in air. They will be double the speed of a zepplin, and much easier to fly. at two months of age, you can ride your dragon and put armor on them at the same time. At 3 months age, they can breath fire. You can swordfight, shoot arrows, or cast spells from dragonback, but your dragon can be killed or wounded! If they die, whatever armor they are wearing goes back to you. Of course, we cant have a bunch of noobs running around on dragons, so you must be level 20 or 30+.
I dont expect this to be done, i just wanted to get the idea out there :D
However, if this DOES happen to be done, it would add a whole new element to kingdom wars- Dragon Riders

Sounds like a ton of fun. But it if it were possible keeping these dragons alive and healthy should be alot of work. So that dragon riders would kind of become who you are. If you were going to have a rocking dragon who could participate in kingdom battles and stuff, it should probably consume your gameplay experience to the point where you couldn't spend hours leveling as well.

The Book was Eragon. Read it folks, theres some good RP basis for magic in there!

Wouldn't it be cool having a dragon shelter in your garden? your best little npc pal sleeping there awaiting you to log on.

And two months old it'll fly.

of course i hope at that age it will become independant and hunt its own food i.e slaying bomys and things.
Afterall Dragons are skilled hunters of the wild, they are free spirited.
Nobody can keep a dragon truely as a pet. Partners yes but not a pet.
Dragons have too much pride to have a master.
So giving the dragon some independance, maybe if you leave it on main island it will attack bomys if they stray near and eath the skin , food they drop.

Yeah, and there will be a special song to call your dragon, play the song, and the dragon will come to you. Depending on how far away it is, it might take awhile.
and yes, the dragons can hunt for themselves.
If i could maybe get a script-mentor, I could learn how to script then make this a reality... maybe...
