Fixing Lag in Windows Vista
I finally found a way to get around the lag on Windows Vista!
Stefan: It's best to work out the kinks now before Windows Vista's final release! Here's what you do: 1) Right click Graal's icon 2) Click the compatability tab 3) Check "Run this program in compatability mode" 4) Make sure "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)" is selected in the drop down box 5) Check "Disable Visual Themes" 6) Check "Disable Desktop Composition" It may make the windows look ugly, but hey, NO LAG! |

And uhm I guess i'll add the screenies to get there if you don't quite understand.. even though there is no vista window skin around it... not really any lag ..as far as the access violation I have no clue and I doubt mega does either.

X_X I'm not sure I should give out the link, but it IS a public thing. Download and installed at your own risk...
Warning: BACK UP YOUR FILES BEFORE INSTALLING VISTA! http://download.windowsvista.com/pre...n/download.htm |
Ok, I will.

Personally, I don't have any problems with lag on Graal with Vista. I had to enable compatibility mode and disable visual styles in Beta 2, but it works fine (mostly) in RC1.
You can get a key for Vista here, for those that are interested. |
Windows Vista was awesome enough to find and install an updated firmware for my DVD drive automatically. Unfortunately it was the wrong firmware, and the drive is completely useless. Vista can bite my ass.
