gladiator w.i.p
 

I guess I just wanted to make something big, I usually make stuff inside 64x64.
So I started to draw a guy, with a sword, then it became sortof a Roman Gladiator, so thats what it is from now on.
I scanned it, but as you can see it was alot of work never the less:

Very nice, although without a visible foe, he just looks like he's ballet dancing. ^^;

He looks good....but I agree that he looks like he's dancing. I think it might be the can-can.

I like it Per :),maybe some design on the kilt? skirt? whatever lol and a shield to give him more of a gladiator feel,maybe fighting a lion :O or a man on a chariot.

Or a Broadway musical. ;)

Your most defernately my most favourite artist out at the moment, and you have some serious potential to be even better than you are now.

What you got here is really nice, the original lines are awesome, parts of the colours are perfect. But if you dont mind me helping out by giving a few pointers ^_^

On the original drawing you have nearly all the anatomy figured out, but on the coloured version you seem to have lost the shape of the man and its turned a little flat.

Some parts, to a fashion, you have sort of done fancy buttonising, light at the top, dark at the bottom, and it appears flat.

For now id say have another brighter colour and another darker and start touching up on the anatomy, give him more form.

hehe, thanks for the comments. Most of you speak like I'm finnished, it's a w.i.p(work in progress). I am going to make an arenabackground with a lion in chains and stuff. maybe make some logo or something on the skirt thing, but I was focusing on using as few colors as possible on this guy. I have used 16 colors so far, with teh white background color. And lighting is my biggest weakness Tom, so I thank you for the constructive crtitiques. I will probebly work on him a little today. so Maybe I'll post another picture of him in about 8 hours :P

The position he's in doesn't look like an aggressive one. To me, it looks more like he's trying to dance.

Nice rendering though.

A lion is clearly trying to bite him and his hand is up in the air to avoid being ripped off and his leg is up so he doesn't lose it.

The sword is just over the head (he missed the target)

Hehe, thanks for the comments, I enver said he was fighting anyone, maybe he just killed someone and posing at the end of a fight to fire up the girls on the arena.
Anyways, worked a bit on the chene in hte back and maybe a new lightsorce:

Background looks cool, your new one has like red-orangeish lines on them that stand out and hurt my eyes. Make it look really bright though, I like it the way it was. :O

I like the lines, give the effect that there's a torch behind him.

As I said before - good rendering, but I just don't like the character design, etc.

Work on something else more worthy of your time :)
