Reload windows= EASY

In Win98:

Step A.
Get Win98 Setup Disk
Step B.
Pop in Win98 CD-ROM
Step C. Follow onscreen instructions until installer is done

In Win2000 (EVEN EASIER, YAY!)
Step A.
Disk 1 goes in drive.
Disk 2.
Disk 3.
Disk 4.

Step B.
Insert Win2K CD

Step C. Select "Repair an Installation"

Step D. Follow onscreen instructions

and you're done!

Except for there's one problem, I have windows ME and no setup disk just a stupid HP Pavillion recovery disk, wich makes me have to install everything again

Ohh...
Isn't there any way to just "Repair" the installation?

Vash 07-07-2001 05:18 AM

Recovery, but I still have all my stuff but, I would have to reinstall Half-Life, UT and all my games

Try to find a friend with a real version of Windows ME, not a stupid recovery disc.

The whole system is frozen and won't do anything.

What? The computer IS off. The problem is that it won't boot back into Windows, which you obviously have a very hard time understanding.

Why would he buy a new one if this is an easily fixable problem?

07-07-2001 06:29 AM

I dont see anyone fixing it =\ Poor Vash

All he needs to do is reload windows, which is a simple task. He just needs a Windows ME CD to restore the installation without wiping his hard drive.

he hasnt done it yet =\ I hope he gets fixed soon Cronos Number of Insults is growing very large. Compared to the fact that I have 0 Its going to be a LONG night

"Number of Insults is Growing Very Large." Just a question... how is it growing when I've only insulted you twice today? It's not my fault that there were people who agreed with them.

pop in your start up disk and do stuff...i usually do that step by step confirmation thing and press kkeys then towards the end hold Esc until it lets you type and such...then open the recovery program and restore your system to yesterday

I forgot about System Restore, as I've only used WinME once or twice.

Boot in Safe Mode, and run the System Restore. Go back one day, and the problem should be solved!
