I tried to log onto Zodiac a minute ago and notice how they set their server to Staff Only. While I personaly do not know their reasons and extend of their "Staff Only" phase. I do believe that Hosted servers shouldn't be allowed to go in a "Staff Only" made or atleast not for a long period. (Occasional bug fix... or something is ok!)

Anyhow; hosted servers are in that tab cause they passed an inspection for players to catch a glimps on what is being worked on and get to know the server/get seduced into being a vip/gold account.

Servers do not deserve to be in this tab if they:
1- Are in a staff only mode for a longer period of time.
2- Have no playable content other than an assortment of dull levels that look alike.
3- ?? (You come up with one.. i'm lazy and its almost 2am)

Anyhow anything posted in this thread is an opinion; If you feel the need to flame go ahead and show how mature you are. Same goes for ignorant/uninteligent posts like "YEAH!"...

Angelu, I work at Zodiac and don't know if I should say anything concerning the reason we are staff only. However if you would like to speak with YEn about it I have his MSN.

The playerworld owner should be able to close the server when, and for the ammount of time he sees fit. Maybe you should stop pining over servers' temporary downtime, and find a hobby.

Graal doesnt have many good servers. The hosted ones are all bad and half the classic ones suck yet PWA dont do anything to force them to better themselves.

As I know, there are different rules if it's a hosted PW or not.

We're making the server staff only for a couple of days in order to fix up some small bugs, implement a few new systems, balance out formulas, and organize the server's data. We couldn't very well make these changes with 50-some players running around and shouting about how this-and-that isn't working properly.

Think of it as a maintenance period.

I have never seen 50 players on the server in the last month.. infact.. I haven't seen it over 20 in a week or so.

You must not have been looking too often then. :redface:

It has so many people it's not even funny.

PS: This thread is abotu servers on Hosted in general; and how some of them are unfit. Downtime/privacy for a longer extend of time being one of them; but since Zodiac is just closed for bug testing there is "notting" wrong with it.

Zodiac should be removed from the hosted tab, for as long as they are developing with the "onlystaff" option set to true! The same thing happened with Endora, so why not with Zodiac? >_<

Or maybe they are staff only to see if theres anything else stolen other than their grass tiles?!

The Staff Only function has many uses and a manager/server should not be punished for the duration of that time.

If the server is removed off the list then more questions will pop up about it - Where did it go? What's going on? Did they remove it? It's much easier for the players to get the "The server is for staff only". They'll automatically assume that it's being worked on and that will make them happy.

The time shouldn't last more than three days or so - that's plenty of time to fix any bugs and to repair any damage.

Justification for the Staff Only access is simple and understandable. I cite the most recent use of it with Era when the NPC Server died but the players continued to try and interact with the NPCs, thusly losing their items and money. Complaints became rampant so they switched the server.

I say to be wait for a little bit so they can do their job.

There was a lot more work than we planned for. :(

Right now they are going under heavy developement before they go classic, isn't that not obvious?
