Well,

I decided its time for me to leave.

I dont have much of a reason that everyone dosent get to see every day that I can say directly, because I am afraid my thread will get deleted and I will lose my 8 hours post AGAIN.

Besides the game completely becoming boring in every aspect (Even Development, what is there to go for?). I learned a few things in my time here. Some helpful advice maybe?

It appears that since Nemesis went off, the best way to make nice with a powerful position is to be as horrible to the graalonline paying customers as possible. Hold nothing back, its great buisness apparently. Refrain from doing something that helps anyone, ever. That or just make friends with them.

It wont work unless someone very high notices first, once that happens, no one else cares.

My best time on graal was when I was Managing babylon, and then Malinko managed to finally get his hands on it and ruin it. As if it wasnt ruined to begin with. Guess he pushed his stuff to the right people long enough.

I can thank graal for helping get me into scripting though, it was always real fun, but is more of a pain then anything these days, expecially when, unless you are working for UN or Era, most of the stuff you do will probably go un-noticed. Expecially if you buy a development server, painful.

I dont think I even really need to mention why the forums arent enjoyable to be around anymore, VT is doing a great job in the thread of saying it already, and Malinko is doing a great job of proving my earlier points.

Thanks to everyone in the scripting forum (namely Ziro, and Okiesmokie) when I came back gs2 was what we should be learning, and from watching you guys make posts and npcs, I was able to learn/correct some things I was doing wrong, and learn a few neat new tricks.

This post has been all over the place I guess, and I only have one more thing to say, I will be back when Dark Rival is finished, because I want to be the first in line to laugh in everyones face who keeps giving Excaliber grief (as opposed to actually helping him, which might save some time). In the unlikely event that it is never finished, at least he gave it a better try then most of the trolls.

I would wish Graal luck but I think it needs a little more then that, and I dont know that administration believes in miracles.

Well, he put himself in charge. Since he was PWA at the time, there wasn't anything the Accounts Admin could do. The Accounts Admin does not spend her life sucking up, so it is difficult for her to do anything nowadays.
I agree with you here. I have never seen someone as passionate about a server as Excalibur. He has made significant improvement since he started, and he will only continue to get better.

I dont know much about the :( but I do know that after Nemesis left, things became entirely too different.

I dont blame you at all for the babylon thing, I blame Stefan, and I also blame everyone who follows poor server Managers around like Sheep. If it were not for Stefan and Nemesis in the first place, my best guess is that babylon would be number 1, there is no reason it would not have been at our rate back then.

Anyways you are an amazing global staff member, and one of the very few people in that position i have full respect for. Thanks for helping me out all those times.

I do not think with the current way graal is, it will will ever be 'nice' enough for me to come back. Its almost mind-boggling to see what goes on. With a community that could have been so great. Much like some vengeful child with their toys, theyve attempted to dismantle it in too many ways.

However I have stated my one return clause, and I wish you the best of luck on your server, it really does look good.

Rather childish post posted by a demented soul. I'm starting to think you have some mental conditions in real life, or you just have your bipolar moments. Ever since I met you many years back, you've always sucked up to everyone at the position above you. I've always known you for being the suck-up type. Of course, there is no respect in sucking up, but if you don't suck up, then it's rare that your talent will be noticed, so I applaud you for puckering up to the administration with nice moist lips as you swept the floor as they walked about.

Yes, you got the position, but you got it with no ounce of decency/morality left in you. I help players on Graal without sucking up to anyone. In fact, a few globals dislike me because I actually stand up to them and speak my mind, without sucking up to them like most players do, but I do it in a professional manner, without breaking any rules. Will this attitude get me a global position someday? Probably not, but you know what? If it takes some sucking up to become a global, then I'd rather not become one. I'm not going to change who I am just to get a high position. It's quite ridiculous and is just displaying disrespect towards yourself. I've been playing this game for about 6-8 years now, and I've been developing/helping out Graalians since then. Has all of my hard work paid off? Well, I'm not a global, but if I know I've made a difference for the better for the gameplay of others, then yes, it has paid off. Would it be nice to hold a global position? Sure, it would, but I wouldn't want to have one unless I earned it based on my talents and qualities, and not by how many times I can suck up to the administration in a day.


To Andy:

I didn't talk to you much, but I know that you would help players with scripting problems when they needed help. I always say, if you know how to do it, and someone is asking you for help, then you should help them. It's always a loss for Graal when a talented scripter leaves the game, but I guess someday every developer that developes for the game today will move on to other things. I hope that someday Graal may capture your interest, and that you may come back, and hopefully, enjoy it more than you've ever enjoyed it.

I came on after talking with Sephiroth, I am sure you cant make anything out of the server. You never could when you sucked up to Alexander to be the "Co-Manager" or whatever he was doing with you that was so bad even Outlaw quit.

Not every talanted scripter will move on. Not everyone has somewhere else to go. Some people will stay around and beg for what graal can be. Its a shame that they will not take the time out to make it that way. They have a very decent concept ruined by very horrible buisness ethics.

I honestly think if you would take 5 or 10 minutes out to breathe away from Malinko, you would have a better time. Thats just me though.

I remember Googi and Warcaptain tried to have Stefan explain the reason he hired me back then. Stefan wouldn't answer the question, but he did state that I never did a thing wrong. Who knows the reason, I do not. But I know for sure, I don't suck up to Stefan at all. When I was global staff, I just did whatever he asked me to. Call that sucking up? No, no not at all, I call that being a good staff member for doing what he hired me to do. Maybe others should do the same, but that means you could be sucking up too, right? 1) Trying to steal Konidias's account. Please don't even try to get out of this one.
2) Placing yourself in charge of Babylon without even mentioning to the PWA that they needed a new owner.
3) Giving out handfuls of items on UN to your "wife" [edit] I almost forgot the giving of 50,000 gralats to yourself on Era for "testing"[/edit]
4) Telling people to choke on chips and die. Lets not forget the immature harassment you have given to Googi and other people on these forums.
5) And last but not least, your suicide attempt/fake suicide attempt. We cannot have a global staff member that has a short fuse. If you were about to kill yourself, you obviously cannot control yourself and thus should not be a global staff member.

Regarding the not sucking up to Stefan part, Hahaha.

Do you actually think you did a good job as a staff member? I know you left <3 messages all over your support tickets (and even would comment telling unixmad how great he was after unix would reply to tickets) and replied to them rather quickly, but that does NOT make you a good staff member. Want to know why you were not a good global? Look at the 5 reasons above.

Hey Djinn, yes I remember you, you worked under Raven or Axion. I had to quit bab back then because of the whole Nemesis and Kish thing, I dont think many people know the whole story, but its a lot like a Malinko and Artanis thing! That should spell it out pretty good.

I do think you made a bit of a mistake, you could have done the same thing Odin did. He messaged me on AIM and Brought me to Babylon to be his Co-Manager (Which is funny if you consider this whole situation that I was pretty much ignored and removed when Malinko came and took over).

I came on to laugh at him and tell him how he is not allowed to do that because I also run the server with Odin, and he removed me. Being the game we are on and power is everything, me, a lowly little player compared to him, powerless.

I obviously would have lended my experince and talent to you as well. Babylon is my favorite server.

It does sadden me that they have lowered babylon to such a state that it is only gaining players when they give away npcs, then they lie to the players and say that they will never take the npcs away even though, they obviously will.

Hiring Rogue staff from servers like UN also raises their playercount. I think I counted 5 people who PMed me when i logged on, who did not start as staff, and within 10-20 minutes had an RC.

I honestly think anyone would be better then Malinko, but obviously I am mildly biased to myself, because we did such a great job back then. Sorry that it did not work out better for you, but look at it this way, it hasnt worked out for anyone. Maybe thats why no development ever gets done.
