A House & Grr @ openCanvas
1 Attachment(s)
So.. I got bored and wanted to try some gfx.. heres my house!
Its incomplete because I finished it, then when I tried to save it openCanvas crashed.. yay! I have never done gfx before, so be nice :( And I am aware of the little whiteness.. I need to fix it (again) I tried to color it and shade it Kingdoms style because I am going to be using the same system for houses (one big image) and I am tired of trying to get people to make the GFX for me x-x So for the time being (until they come through) I am going to work on my own, so I can get stuff done. |
It's def a nice start without the shading.
I would make the roof a bit taller though, I guess. |
The shading is a bit...off. One side should definatly be darker than the other, to display your lightsource.
|
It just needs far more general shading...shading gives the illusion that it's more three dimensional. This definately does not look three dimensional.
|
I'm pretty crappy at this.. I honestly just used a soft brush with alternating density to make things appear shaded... I wanted to be quick x-x
|
If you want I could help with this ;] like give you an example.
|
I put your house to shame, Warcaptain. Your impatience will be the death of you ;)

Graals houses were created probably with the assistance of a graphical tablet ( £30+ or $65ish usd ) and a graphics program no different to photoshop. I like it ; you sure have a good idea of what your doing, but if you try to hard to copy them you will fail without the use of a graphics tablet.

you don't need to use a mouse when you have a graphics tablet.
|
We can't all afford a tablet. I know I don't have at least $100 to buy one. So, a good ole fashioned mouse works just fine for me.

It's a valuable asset, especially if you can acquire the software necessary to use it well. It's also quite handy for doing photo manipulation. But when I do use it I normally use it to do some drawings. |
