Depending on what happens when Tropical Storm (may be a Hurricane before it moves over land) Alberto comes through my area, I may be offline tomorrow or maybe longer.
I have quite a few bad trees in my yard that were damaged by last years devestating Hurricanes, so who knows what will happen if they come down.

We will be very close to the center of circulation of this storm (the track).
It has sustained 70 mph winds right now, with gusts much higher.

Anyway, just a heads up to the possibility of my being offline for awhile, if it happens, so you will know why.

It's like the whole postman paradox. Who deliver's the mailman's mail? Does he deliver his own mail, or is there some never-ending chain of mailmen delivering mail to other mailmen? Of course, I guess that problem could be solved if mailman A delivered mail to mailman B and vice versa, but then what would we have to talk about at the water-cooler?

Anyway, have as much fun as you can!

It's not like that's enough time to really do anything cool.

Yeah but they only enforce the rules that actually exist.

excaliber7388 06-13-2006 05:26 AM

Good luck with the storm :frown:
Florida is dangerous, why do so many people retire there (um...not an age joke Darlene ;) )

Whatever, Googi.
I am tired of doing the same song and dance with you, and I am not about to go there again with you.
I have more important things to worry about at this time, then your whining about the same ol thing over and over again.

Who cares? Stop hijacking the thread.

Now, back to it:

California > Florida.

Get one of those rubber dingys and stick a giant oversized deskfan onto the back of it. You could be surfin' the winds in no time!

Take care.

Googi's not scheming what to do while you're away. He meant that even if there were something entertaining to do, there wouldn't be enough time to do it in anyway.

Hah. I lived in LA for awhile, right on Rodeo Dr.
I have never seen a place where you could look outside at any given time of the day, and see something strange looking walking down the street. ^^

The weather was nice, though

As for the Tropical Storm: I am getting gusts of high wind now. It is just off land of Northern Florida with winds of 65 mph.
Last night, it started to fall apart which kept it from becoming a hurricane, but now is trying to reorginize itself, moving slowly towards land.
I wont be getting really strong stuff because it fell apart, and everything is so widespread, but I will be getting gusts of high wind, and rain all day, so we will see what happens.
Could have been so much worse if it hadn't of been for the wind being strong enough to sheer this storm apart.
Maybe I will get lucky this time...

I didn't live there long enough to experiance any of that stuff, just a few months in the Spring

Update: One of the trees I was worried about, just came down, and smashed my neighbors fence. I am thankful it went that way instead of on my house. It's a big tree, and my neighbors house is far enough away, that the tree missed their house, but not their wood fence :frown:
Thank Goodness it was the top of the tree that snapped, and not the whole tree

This is exciting! Live hurricane coverage!

Are the winds that bad? I thought you were a ways inland?

Perhaps you ought to attach that oversized deskfan to your house instead.

My county is on the West Coast, but I am on the east side of that county.

Pfft. Lightweight.

I was outside during both Rita and Katrina. Dodging limbs and debris > that fence getting pwned.

I'm not dumb enough to be outside in it, but this is nothing compared to the 3 Hurricanes that hit us last year.
