Here's a gun I made for a server called Millenium, tell me how I did and what to improve :)

It is way too square for a chaingun..

Bl0nkt 05-28-2006 06:34 AM

It really isn't that bad. Maybe a tad too big, but not bad.

I suggest giving a better shape to the left/right sprites and giving a more colorful feel; although the colors aren't too bad.

Perspective is all wrong. They all look flat.

CidNight1142 05-28-2006 08:09 AM

I like the sides, but I'm with Jordan on the incorrect perspective from the top.

If you're going for a 'Graal' perspective, the sides are wrong as well.

He just used copy/paste :(

Neat. Top view is terrible though.

coreys 05-28-2006 04:38 PM

it's decent. Perhaps you can make milleniums other gfx decent then *coughitstilesetsuckssobadcough*

they do look flat and the perspective is off.. but for a second gun its real good ide say, try and make it more 3d, depth and everything, not just flat, like for instance ...

if this gun where to be a cube for graal it would look to be square, add more sides to it since the graal view is from an angle

and black lines are bad, gfx tend to look better with a darker shade of the color its outlining..

I explaine things bad.

considering the gun is symmetrical I decided to copy and paste it, but then I went back and re-colored it to suit the lighting. I don't see how drawing the same image pointing a dif. direction would make it any better than copy+pasting it...

Yea I always screw up on angle, and I never knew black lines were bad so I'll take that into consideration when I make the new version :)

I think they're nice. :) Keep up good work.

lancelot9 05-29-2006 07:06 AM

it may help to grab something outta the closet that resembles it and set it infront of you..like the cycliders for the barrelts, sometimes in real life the middle of the cyclider is the darkest, the sides are brightest

Considering the perspective is all wrong, you should fix it. Copying and pasting for the up and down directions is a nono. Think about the gun facing south. You are going to see the hole in the barrel of the gun. Now if you rotate that gun 180 degrees whilst keeping perspective in check, you will be able to see the back of the gun and the hole of the barrel will be blocked by the top of the barrel.
