Hot Keys Feature
 

Hey,

It's a pretty simple idea and I keep having to change items all the time and it's a real bug when I have to stop - open inventory - change item.

Can't you make a hotkey system so I can just press 1, 2, 3, 4 etc?

It'd be SO much easier.

People have asked for hotkeys for the longest time and its always turned down, I doubt staff will add hotkeys.

Sorry, but I hadn't seen any other posts on the topic of hotkeys.
What is the problem with having them?

Easy access to healing items, armor, and such. I learned to hold down Q and use the alternative movement keys *jkli or w/e*.

It's just not a good idea.

The problem with that is?

your in a gunfight your getting owned you press one and chew some gum press two and have body armor press three and your famas or whatever you use is back out and your saved from death its just very lame.

it fits right into the era lifestyle of lameness lol, but nah hotkeys are a bad idea

How about it was coded so then only weapons could be attached.

Chrisz was making a keypad a long time ago, I am sure it still exist.

Hot keys already exist. I'm not sure if they've been deleted or disabled since I was staff, but they already are there. I'd really much like them too, even though I rarely play nowadays but I'm fine without. If your qualm is "but they'll be easier healed in a gunfight!" - SO WHAT?! Have you never played another PvP game online that implemented a hot key system?

The use/misuse of Hotkeys depends on the player using them. Yes, I'd use them simply for fast weapon switching.

Only weapons would be better, and might I remind you, that healing items cause a freeze and since there is no damage freeze, using a medpack would get you utterly obliterated before it'd do any good. Only exception I can see to this is soda.

I think hotkeys are a great idea, just have to have some limitations... As nuada said, you cant have people healing instantly by the 3 simple keycombo...
SHOOT, 1hp, 1, heal, 2, armor, 3, gun, Bam. Lamenes..

So to fix this, have it gun friendly. And only gun friendly. :redface:

Or just not have them period.

well i think hotkeys are a great idea, when most people think of hotkeys they think of macroing items, but theres alot of stuff that can be used with hotkeys that isnt lame, id like to have some preset phrases i can press a button and then be able to shout back during a fight, you could give tactical codes to your partners during a raid or something too "code blue" without having to stop and get your ass handed to you becuase you stopped to type stuff

and what harm could it be to hotkey hats?

You could disguise yourself real fast which could confuse some people.

Hot keys could be a event shop item :O

And you can only hotkey guns, and objects, None healing.

Actually, that is a good idea, having it for an event item. With the recent boom in Event item releases, I think HotKeys would be a good event item...but should be severely limited...Since, you know, people would misuse it >.>
