Popularity on G2K1

Has anyone ever noticed how big a factor this is?

Karakaze Troupe - filled with people who just want to be popular, and with TrueHeaT in it who wants to recruit only his friends, it's just a big popular ring or something. Don't worry about getting into them... not worth it to me.

Administration - How does the staff get recruited, and who does it? How did Gameo get in? My guess is popularity. The recruiter wants to be popular, maybe. I don't know for sure.

If I sound like a jackass, yeah, I'm a jackass. It's kinda the truth though, at least a little bit.

no but he should recruit ppl he does not know

Im in a dilemna about hiring FAQs right now. I have chosen to do random testing and hiring so people wont say that exact same thing about me.
But youre friends do get pissed when you exclude them... Its not very obvious but being any sort of staff position that is in command of others is pretty hard

back to the topic

Basically everything is based on popularity
Heres an example
Lets hire Twizted for admin position!
Besides the fact that he has been incredibly errogant etc, and banned, he isnt exactly the most popular person is he? Therefore he has a lower chance of gettin hired unless someone likes his PKing skills (thats just an EXAMPLE)

Graal revolves around popularity and power. Plain and simple

You become an administrator if your name is drawn from a magic hat.

Birdbird_0 07-06-2001 03:05 AM

heh heh pk dudes

CrazedMerlin 07-06-2001 03:06 AM

yes gameo was hired so you must need to be popular to join staff!
what if twiztid jugalo gets hired?
does that mean you must be rude and pk to be staff
common think before you talk guy

No, if TwiZtid JuGGaLo got hired, that would totally destroy my popularity/power theory and create balance (that's only if he's tested, though!!!!)

I was merely stating that considering not very many people (or whom ive talk to) dont think very highly of him. Therefore if any of them were in any sort of hiring position, they wouldnt think of hiring him would they? plus i also stated "(this is an EXAMPLE)"

ill say it again

Haven't you noticed that most of the really popular people are intelligent? But I'm not saying you are wrong or anything, some of them lack it.
