Sweet raid idea!

This is basically scoring system for raiding Gang bases. There's no material benefit, it just rates the succes at a raiding party vs the defending gang.
a "raidnpc" in each gang base. Someone who is in a guild (that is not that gang) can type /raid inside a gang base to start the raid. Then, everytime someone who is not in that gang dies inside the base, the gang score goes up by 1. Everytime a gang member dies inside the base, the Raid score goes up by 1. An npc could show this off to the side (in a wall on the main floor) like this:
Quote:

Terisu Family: 4
Raiders (or Attackers): 3
10 minutes later, the raid ends. Yay. Compare scores and decide if you won or lost that raid. That's it!

Further expansions:
-A Last Raid npc that shows the scores from the previous raid, right below the current standing.
-perhaps a 2 minute cooldown between raids, so the defenders have a chance to reorganize themselves.
-a Raid stat for each player, showing how many Raids they've "won" (if they were not in the gang and the raiders won, this is +1. If they were in the gang and the gang won - this goes up +1)

EDIT: Oh yeah, comments?

You're talking about an event right? Otherwise, some gangs will have huge disadvantages due to timezones....

Sounds like a good addition to andrew's gang wars

thats not how a raid works...

lol i kinda like the raid idea but we raid enough now mabye just have npc's that count kills on gang tags to give them rank

checkmyparanoia 05-09-2006 01:31 AM

The scores reset 10 minutes after a "raid" (call it what you want, i mean when 1+ people go inside a gang base to kill as much as possible, and try to stay inside the base without dying.).. its not an event. and, a gang can't really "lose" a raid if no one's there -- they have to be inside the base and die to +1 the raider score.

Charlie9 05-09-2006 11:17 PM

or gang kills on tag could count to the gangs rank which would lead to massive raids and wars trying to be number 1

Bl0nkt 05-10-2006 02:06 AM

Raids are done through hating other gangs and territorial disputes. They aren't a happy happy LoL type of thing.

Charlie9 05-10-2006 03:14 AM

lol i just use lol as a kinda begining thing not really meaning anything

checkmyparanoia 05-10-2006 05:23 AM

Hachi, these raid npcs would be for any group that attacks a base.. partys, individuals, or gangs. People attack gang bases. It happens. So, why not show a kill count for the attack? You dont get anything for "winning", it's just for fun!

(maybe 6 minutes would be more fun, otherwise the time might go far past the fighting)

Raeiphon 05-10-2006 09:49 AM

It's not fun when there is 4 TF members and 1 BB member online. Specially when you fight for kills with nitros.

Evil_SinX 05-10-2006 01:59 PM

Naw :\

Charlie9 05-10-2006 11:07 PM

lol why not my idea of having an npc that counts how many kills done by that gang on tag but not other players in the gang (Gang could get a lot of kills) to give them rank.

Bl0nkt 05-10-2006 11:26 PM

We can always use the gang information center to take count of how many defenses a certain gang had, and how many times they've raided. It can also detect the gang's enemies and favored gangs.

Charlie9 05-11-2006 12:36 AM

then why isnt it working yet?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

checkmyparanoia 05-12-2006 12:24 AM

Yeah Blonkt, you could do that. That'd be cool.

Raeiphon 05-12-2006 04:55 AM

Charlie - Because coding something like that, having it work dynamically for FIVE DIFFERENT GANGS isn't going to happen overnight. It's a big thing.
