Apartment System

Era would probably be a lot nicer with a new apartment system.

A system that I thought would work quite nicely is one that would allow everyone to have a free studio apartment. The apartments would originally be one room, no pk,and have no furniture. It may be better to give an example of the system for better understanding.

Player chooses an apartment building that he/she would like to have his/her apartment (one per account). The player goes up to the NPC landlord and requests an apartment. If all the rooms are filled on the floor, the server would add a new floor automatically. The player would then have an empty room that he/she could fill with furniture, appliances, lockers, etc. Eventually Player makes enough money to enlarge his apartment. Player speaks with the landlord and purchases a new room for his apartment.

In my opinion, Era lacks the ability to support its player with proper storage. The introduction of this apartment system would improve the economy and allow proper storage.

Personally, I think than an onlinetime requirement would allow for random, non-dedicated, players from ruining the apartments (250hrs?). Also, I think that an onlinetime requirement would encourage players to play more and reward those players whom have dedicated their time to the server without ruining gameplay for the new players.

I agree with this but only if the NPC land lord is named Tom Nook.

k0rupt_ed 05-06-2006 09:38 PM

That doesn't sound lke a bad idea.

Damix2 05-06-2006 09:45 PM

I've been annoying them to make the apartments for a while =/

I've been bugging Andy to use an apartment system where you get a key in your inventory. He refused because he doesn't want to deal with the control-npc taking it out of your inventory once your time runs out. :{

No lol
I didn't want it for hotel/motel businesses.

Anyhow, it's a very cool idea, copylevel feature would also come in handy :O
It'd be like the mario with the never ending floors :O

''To the post above''
Read Hachi's post, he's staff.

I'm not sure I agree with this at all. The upgrading your apartment system is nice, but no 1000 story towers filled with apartments. It'd eliminate the purpose of lockers for one thing, and make apartments another thing Joe Public can get at their own will.

Yeah the tower thing with the never ending rooms would suck. I think there should be atleast 2-4 apartments on the whole gmap with about 10 living areas in each.

k0rupt_ed 05-07-2006 10:59 PM

take it into consideration staff, we need more things to do lol

warp2ukew 05-08-2006 01:20 AM

Or make them overly exspensive, and have suites and such.

k0rupt_ed 05-08-2006 02:56 AM

lol this isnt manhatten..

Raeiphon 05-08-2006 02:45 PM

Make it Cairns, and beg for mercy from the insane $3000 dollar a day for a waterfront view with absolutely no storage!

Or better yet, give us something that doesnt involve guns to do.

Charlie9 05-11-2006 12:56 AM

i think you could have rooms and then better rooms like suites master suites penthouses

I don't believe that 100000 people play on Era. One floor would have about 10 rooms and each player can only have ONE room. Lockers are terrible to begin with. Not enough for the playerbase.

The old system was just fine. The hotel, Red Fox, and the houses above Chrisz mansion worked out well. If you ask me, redo all those three and just leave it the way it is. Nothing's wrong with that.

Charlie9 05-18-2006 05:08 PM

we need more you do relize are player list is usally over 100 on the weekends and after school. Half the people on era will want one and they will probaly be able to afford one i saw a person with 53 hours and he had duel mk23's and ap7's and it was his only account.

You have to understand Era isn't fun when EVERYONE is satisfied. Appartments should be treated at rarities(spellcheck?). The way Era is now isn't the way it should be. Everybody should not have the same items or things. At the very most the appartments should only satisfy a quarter of Era, maybe less.

Rocket133 05-29-2006 02:53 AM

I agree since the new small buisinesses era has become noob invested. Better guns should be rare to make era players have a goal like to get a really good gun that's rare. Right now everyone on era has all they need/want so era is getting boring. There should be some rare limited things/guns but not too much because that would ruin the economy and noone would even want to try to get the gun they want or such.
