How to become a global?
 

Just out of interest, how does one become a global? And actually qualify for a global position?

Help out servers, respect the graal community, and annoy stefan.

There aren't any qualifications anymore. I think there used to be an age limit, but that rule left when galen quit.

Most globals become one by association. I was hired by Nemesis and Alkaren because I was already in a high position (GP Chief on Classic), and so they trusted me. The past few globals that have been hired weren't hired through official tryouts, but by knowing high admins who gave them recommendations. There were a couple PWA tryouts back when Spark was the Admin, but those are long gone.

I think the only way to become a global now is by being selected.

You need to have not much common sense, you need to be young and also be too busy to log onto Graal.

I agree with the low IQ and no common sense part, but I totally am not too busy to come on. I'm on like 21.7 hours a day.

Common misconception. Lyndzey actually prefers to be reached via email ([email protected]) or through Graal (account name: Ibo, Ibonic, Ibonic2).

Who want's to be global anyways, ugh people always bugging you, if your PWA your, at least SUPPOSED to work alot. Ugh, no thank you!

Why would anyone want to know how to become global?
Ive known plenty of the past globals, that obviously dosent help.

Its all about who Stefan and Unixmad can/will trust, and that gets harder and harder to get the more people who abuse that trust.

Sucks for graal because like ive probably said 1000 times before, they are losing a lot of good potiental staff members because they wont trust anyone.

I think thier still is Playerworld Admin Team tryouts every 2 years or something like that or in other worlds very rarely:p

I don't see why anyone would be interested in jumping into the action of what the PWA receives. I'm sure you're believing "Well, if I get hired I could change it all." Not happening, people in high positions always receive negativity, regardless of how well they're doing with the position. Plus, I haven't seen anyone ANYWHERE that I believe could even be considered qualified.

Steps to become a global!
Step 1.) Become friends with globals.
Step 2.) Join guilds/businesses/gangs/etc. that globals are in.
Step 3.) Be high staff in imporant players.
Step 4.) You should know how to script and making levels and GFX are also good.
Step 5.) Wait
YOU ARE NOW A GLOBAL! CONGRADULATIONS!

Only one of your steps were right.

Here it is..

1.) Become friends with globals.
2.) Log onto every server Stefan goes on.
3.) Laugh historically at everything a global says even if it's not close to being funny or not intended.
4.) ... Get on your knees

The getting on the knees could mean so many things...But another thing yous hould do is worship Stefan around him. Instead of PRAISE ALLAH it would be PRAISE STEFAN!

False, I have nothing agaisnt Era staff execpt one I cannot remember the name of. :cool: There was an incident like that but my account had been remotely accessed some how and I've had this accounts password changed. :rolleyes:

Recognition and programming usually don't go hand in hand, to be honest.
not being a "Staff Member" with no compensation is not something to be upset about, it is not has if Graal is some prestigious organization that people would be fighting to work for for free.

- As of people who play graal are ungrateful to Stefan and always put out petty insults toward the game, when they could do no better making a game Stefan has don't quite a good job just something needs to be done about playerworlds going up so the player count goes up. ;)

Well, Like I say it'd be nice to be a global I'd save the whole time of people having to add me rc's that I help but then again i'm fine as I am now. :)

I would think you would need to be trusted by Unixmad and/or Stefan...or be trusted by admins who would give recommendations directly to Stefan and/or Unixmad.
I think Globals are selected (or should be selected) by what:

*Members do (that is recognized over time) for the community of Graal as a whole.

*Someone who has shown no (aside from minor mishaps ;) ) bad behavior towards Graal or it's members.

*Someone who treats all members fairly, who knows rules are put in place to be followed and enforced.

*Someone who is ready and willing to put in a fair amount of time to whatever position they recieve, is commited to keep putting in a fair amount of time without stopping eventually because they are tired of the position, or bored, and is easily reachable.

*Someone who can easily contact Stefan and/or Unixmad when needed, and whom Stefan and/or Unixmad responds to.

*In my opinion, there should be an age limit, and some sort of contract making said global responsible for whatever damage they cause Graal should they decide to act stupid.

I'm sure I will think of more things to add, and I know that Graal is severely limited with these kinds of people (sad, but true), and I also know that Globals are not chosen by these rules. I just think they should be :asleep:

The past of globals should be seriously looked into before they are hired, and they should be watched closely after they are hired, which is not done from what I can see.
Obviously, some people do minor, mischievious things when they are young, but then grow up and stop doing them, and become great citizens of Graalonline. I have seen many do this.
But, I mean, there are members who constantly do bad things for years, even as staff, but are clearly recognized for things they have done for Graal, which is fine, but they do not need to be in a global staff position (this is only a general observation, not anyone specifically).

In my opinion, there are several things that should be looked at before a person should become a global, not just because a person has worked with or for Stefan or Unixmad.
Stefan and/or Unixmad does not frequent all PW's, and do not know what these members do in game, how they act in game, or as staff on other servers. Anyone can act totally different when they are around, or speak to Unixmad or Stefan.
