Stairs/Radio GUI

I'm making myself a little playerhouse, and drew these for it. Note that I know the steps are repetitive on the stairs :p I'm going to redo them once I get the time. The Radio GUI is part scripted but shows all the images.

Mostly, I just want to get some critique on the stairs. The radio gui isn't really that important to me, but some critique on it would be appreciated too. :p

the stairs are nice, but like you said there repititive (or however you spell it) and besides that it's a little to dark for my liking :(

the radio's sekc though, but you don't have to make the signs say streaming and such i think the scripts do that :o

I've already scripted the radio and took the screenies then put them together to form that image. :p
I'm going to work on the stairs when I get a little free time.
Thanks for the reply. :]

Maybe its the lighting but the stairs don't really look like stairs to me, it looks kind of like those predefined bridge tiles where its just a bunch of flat rectangles.

Malinko 04-26-2006 05:32 AM

O_o.

Nice stairs.

coreys 04-26-2006 05:40 AM

Like I said before, nice tiles, but there should be some more contrast between the top of each stair, and the vertical part. The radio gui is perfect though. :)

They look more like stairs once they are actually in a level. :p And my brightness on my monitor is up high so dark to me is REALLY dark and I keep forgetting about that. I'll brighten them up.

Yeah, I need to work on my stairs. And I need to turn down the brightness on this monitor. It's a little messed up, and dark colors make it screw up bad so I turn the brightness WAY up. I'll try and use my other monitor and fix it. :p
Glad you like the radio. :D

Thanks for all the good replies. :]

Here is a screen shots of the level I made the graphics for.

I thought that was a bridge before I read it was stairs.

Me too. I blame Graal's odd perspective..

Anyway, the green text on the radio could do with a shadow or something to make it a little less stressful on the eyes, and the minimize/close buttons are not very clear x_x
Other than that, I like the whole rustic/toxic contrast going on.

I like the stair steps, very nice ^_^

Why would it be a bridge if the title of the thread is "Stairs/Radio GUI"?

I can add another showimg to the script for a shadow on the text, but I probably won't edit the radio images. Glad you like the overall look. :D

Edit: I went and fixed a few things that bothered me with my stairs. Then I went and played around with the brightness and contrast. Tell me which you like better.

I prefer the first, it fits in with classic Graal more.. but if the playerworld you're making this for isn't considered "classic", then go with the other one. It just has to fit in with its surroundings. Either way it's an improvement on the original :3

Well, I work on UN as a GAT, and the images are for the playerhouse I'm making.
So, I'll stick to the first one. :p
Thanks for the input. :]
