Archetype folder
Remind me, what's the name of the folder used for archetypes?
It isn't placed in the 'levels' folder. |
... Oh right, I always spell it with an 'e' after 'arch'. x-x
|
o_o What do you mean? I wasn't aware that the placement of your archetype folder mattered, unless you were using the Kingdoms Mudlib?
|
If you put 'archtypes/' (I think that's it) in the folder config, it will create an archtypes/ folder. It won't be a subfolder of 'levels'
Maybe it's archtype/.. :/ |
The word "archetype" means "original model of character", so I guess it's reasonable to assume that you want that "e" there.
Question is, is why does it really matter whether your archetypes folders is inside levels/ or not? |
Why does it really matter if you put your brackets on the same line as the function or on the next line?
I just think it looks nicer. |

When I go to look at the script and I see that ugly "levels/" I frown.

My archetypes folder on Thamhic is just /archetypes/, there is no point in puting it in the folder config unless you are for some reason wanting to download it with update packages or such.
To just create folders, all you have to do is edit your folder rights and place something in the folder (placeholder.txt or so) |
Yes you do not need to have it in the folder configuration for it to be a folder and for it to be able to be accessed.
Actually, you dont even need it to be an actual folder to even use it. Stefan says (and I havent tried it yet) that you can simply use a file saving function and if the folder doestn exist it will create it.. or so he says. But this I havent tried.. |
ZzZzZz
I was thinking of it in a file manager sense, where the folder needs to have proper rights to be readable. I forgot that a file doesn't need to be downloadable to be loaded with loadvars. |
