rc.app

Many of us Macintosh users need a way to get on RC, so that we do not have to use ...AGH...don't make me say it...WINDOWS just to help out on a playerworld or something. I know there was one before but it was very buggy and for some reason I could not open it. If someone could post one here I would GREATLY appreciate it.

Get people to write RC in GScript.

There already is a pretty decent one. I got Twusk to modify the original Scripted RC a bit for me while we were on 2k1. The file management didn't work last I remember, and I couldn't modify players' attribuites or anything... So it was pretty much a glorified staff chat tool.

If you're a Mac user here you're pretty much going to get the short end of the stick; even though you do pay just as much as the Windows users do.

*shrug*

So can someone send me, even the buggy, Macintosh RC?

Admins 03-26-2006 11:23 PM

Good that you ask, I just checked the status of the GUI library on Mac and it seems they made some good progress (http://developer.imendio.com/wiki/Gtk_Mac_OS_X/Roadmap), so I will try to compile a new Mac RC version soon.

I know you can WINE EXEs in linux - can you do something like that on Mac?

CidNight1142 03-26-2006 11:34 PM

Level editor too maybes?
But Jordan is right...just sort of expect to get less for your dollar if you don't have a PC.

No. WINE only works on x86 linux. Macs are not x86.

Of course you can run Windows/Linux inside a complete PC emulator on a Mac, but that is completely impractical.

Well... New Macs are Intel and can run Wine

Eh, but if I have 2,000 bucks to drop on a computer...I'd just get a PC at this point.

So, uh, your solution is "buy a new computer"?
Edit: Wait, it is not; sorry.
